Porsche 718 GT4 - Soul Performance Over Axle Pipes Exhaust Demo

And so, the 718 GT4 exhaust saga begins. The setup in this video is an otherwise stock 718 GT4, with Soul Over Axle pipes. This deletes the particulate filter section of the exhaust. I have disconnected the valves so that they open at all times. I will be swapping this setup to the Soul Race exhaust system to continue to try out different setups until I settle on the one I enjoy the most. Enjoy the sound.

Good idea to add an uphill portion to your test run, to give us a feel for what it sounds like under load (fir me this is the most important condition, especially for drone), even if you’re not accelerating much. Your prior ‘test site’ didn’t include this feature if I remember correctly.

I have these on order but am growing concerned by the pipes not being heat shielded like the OEM pipes. That area already gives off a ton of heat so my primary concern is the potential for increased heat on the rear shocks and tires, more so the suspension since Porsche would likely claim that the mod caused any damage that might otherwise be considered a warranty item - you know Porsche! Would love your real world feedback. Thanks.

Think about the GT3. The rear mufflers are right up against all of that same stuff with no shielding.

Aftermarket Boxster / Cayman exhausts have been running without heat shields for years with no issues. You will generate some heat on the street but not enough to make a difference. Cars seeing track use could benefit from a ceramic coating to reduce temperatures. In all of our years selling exhausts we've never had suspension or tire issues related to heat that caused catastrophic failure. -Mike

Seems quite buzzy under 6k, then the Porsche sound comes back closer to redline, albeit raspy and somewhat distorted: overall not a “clean/refined” sound, at least not through my BOSE headsets
