Porsche 911 996 Rear ECU and Relay locations and Secondary Air Injection Repair

1999 Porsche 911 / 996 ECU and Immobilizer Unit inspection - by Hitchman Designs
In this video we look into a clients 1999 Porsche 911 coupe to investigate the main engine ECU and relays for for the secondary air injection. The secondary air injection pump was not kicking on and ran engine codes. The secondary air injection is mainly for injecting air into the cats to reduce emissions and runs at cold starts for approximately 120sec. The car will still drive without it and codes displayed but if you want to fix the issue it doesn't take much. You can also buy a delete kit online and remove all for a cleaner engine bay and send the ECU to delete the code off it as well. No performance gain by having or not having it.
ECU / Relay cover: 10mm socket may be needed. Left and right ends of plate have rubber nuts that can be loosened by hand. Center 10mm hold both side plates down as one but is NOT required to be removed.
Large 40amp fuse is for the secondary air injection. Check and see if its blown. There is also relay for it in this same panel. Can buy at AutoZone etc.
