Many comments in the thread about deleting SAI. There's a lack of discussion about how to delete it and get a car to pass required state emissions tests after the delete. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the end game is to renew the vehicle's registration, right? Without a valid registration, you own a VW paperweight that takes up valuable real estate in your driveway. Make a video explaining how to delete SAI AND pass state emissions tests in order to renew the vehicle's registration. THIS would be a helpful follow-up video.

@@RedondoBeach2 It's funny how everyone yells delete delete, but fail to state you'll need a custom ECU tune to not have a CEL! If you have a VW/Audi 1.8t as that's what I'm familiar with, there are a few reputable tuners on eBay or you could go with the more premier companies.

My secondary air pomp is working fine but when I start the car (Audi A3 BFQ 1.6L 2002) it doesn't work. I don't hear the sound of the pomp. My question is: How to activate that with vcds? if the OS sensor from the catalyst exhaust is broken, does it matter for the Secondary Air Pomp in order to work? Relais is working fine.

Question on a 2014 vw jetta 1.8t mk6 ea888 gen3 cpra Secondary air injection pump where is the sensor or if it even has one. Getting a code on air pump. I Have done diagnostics and can run the pump and everything is working fine. Just the sensor is triggering on obd11

I have a new 2022 Tiguan 2.0t. The problem I'm having is on cold mornings and days with temps around 18-30 degrees. I start vehicle up and drive away, and within 30 seconds car has a hesitation/miss/cough. After about 60-90 vehicle runs fine. No codes are seen or found. Dealer service manager told me it is the secondary air pump and is normal. Dealer is not willing to do any corrections because of no codes. Have you seen any of this? Vehicle has 750 miles. Thanks

I deleted all those things and no engine check since then. 1 and a half year. Inspection pass. When i start the engine i let it work for like 2-4 minutes for oil circulation anyway.. so is kinda useless. The germans made it just to assure your catalitic converter warming, is that true?

My SAI (2003 VW Passat) does not turn off! Constantly runs. Even when sitting in driveway overnight. It drains my battery and I cannot figure out how to fix it. I want to simply pull the fuse or relay that powers it from the battery. It is useless. I've been disconnecting the battery every time I turn the car off and that is getting old quickly. I'm 99% sure it is the SAI. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner runing under my hood when the car is off. Can anyone help me figure out which fuse or relay I need to pull? Thanks.

I have a 2012 Jetta 2.5 and the secondary air was out when I bought it. Since I don't live in Europe or Cali is it okay to just put the delete kit on it and with cost and everything which route is better for me? The way to fix it is to throw it away and put a block-off plate in its place. Once you do that fix, youll never need it fixed again.

Great video. I did the "budget" intake mod. CTS turbo inlet. Silicone hose upgrade to stock airbox, KnN performance stock filter and snow catch removed. It was working just fine until a few months ago. Now I have "ESC" code and check light. Not having the secondary air filter installed could this be the problem?

I did all the checks on my air system and everything works properly I drive it a couple days and the EPC comes on with no codes then I get the check engine light and I get insignificant flow what is the problem please help thanks

Question: I have a 2016 a7 3.0tfsi engine I recently changed the air intake with injen brand intake that supposed to go into that box , I installed it removing the original box and I was left with secondary air intake pipe that has no filter, Does it matter if that pipe has any filter on it or not? Would it ruin anything? Do you guys sell the secondary air filter that fits my a7 because all other aftermarket brands won't fit have tried at least 2 types (One thing I believe the filter that would fit is mk7 gti's forged air intake sai ) Please advise! On my wife's Audi TT, the pump is on for about 20 seconds during a morning cold start. So I have to wonder how much smog is generated because the car is carrying around about ten pounds of hardware that only functions for 20 seconds? Is there that much "smog" generated during startup?

I am of the understanding that it is used to shorten the amount of time it takes for the vehicle to reach closed loop status. During open loop status a larger amount of fuel is injected because it is more difficult to atomize fuel in a cold engine.?...

Is the kombi valve stuck open? Could be exhaust that is pushing the pump backwards. Pull the cable and see if the pump stops.

We’re you saying to disconnect the kombi valve or the secondary air pump? It may be sticking as I remember having a really tough time getting the cat to ready last emission would this be related? It took months and thousands of miles before the catalyst became ready.

@@Dnasty1 Something makes your pump spinn continously. Either it’s electric power or exhaust leaking backwards in the kombi valve. I would bet you need a new kombi valve, and that asap to not ruin the pump.

Concise answer: The exhaust on start up is rich, adding air to the exhaust helps the cat to heat up quicker, thus reducing them nasty emissions.
