0:25 the first 911 gt1 who debuted in sega arcade game Le Mans 24 using 993 gt1 '96 (debuted in 1996 24 hours of Le Mans where #25 finished 2nd place & win the gt1 class, 0:57 again in sports car gt), later appears again in original pc & ps1 game Test Drive Le Mans (only Roock Racing #35 & JB Giesse #25). Meanwhile the car is seen in porsche history video & porsche modern era circuit (circuit c) loading screen in NFS Porsche as one of the fmv & picture-only (where it's replaced by 911 gt1-98).

i dont know why, but the one in FM7 was one of the most satisfying cars to drive in that game for me

The 993 is my favorite version of the 911 GT1, the other versions of the car are great but they do not match up to the same greatness as the 993 did, it's such a shame it had to appear in fewer racing games, including one that I'm not very fond of, PGR2, racing game devs back then and today are making a mistake not including that particular model in more racing games! The 993 is a timeless machine that deserves a lot more respect than it deserves!

@@AkiRalcolf Sorry but I didn't like it, the cars and tracks are great and the gameplay is fine, but the solo experience is barebones, career and time trial only? no thanks. Not having a single race feature is a big slap to the face for me and casual racing fans. Sorry to trigger the hardcore PGR 2 fans out there, but man it could have been so much better.

"but they do not match up to the same greatness as the 993 did" - to be fair, there's the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans. Considering that the '98 car was considered inferior in comparison to the BMW V12 LM, Mercedes CLK-LM, and Toyota GT-ONE and yet, still managed to bag a historic, record-breaking 1-2 overall finish because its competitors basically suffered problem after problem, the 993 is overshadowed by that achievement. Not to take away from the 993; it's still a fascinating car no doubt.

GT1 was a prototype from the get go with some 911 bits merely for homologation

Not happening. The 911 GT1 is meant to be a prototype homologated for GT racing. Without the 911 bits, the 911 GT1 would instead look like a prototype. I mean, does the 911 GT1 even look like it's mass-produced? No. Because it's a racing prototype.

Without Racing heritage it would largely be pointless. No one would want a melted 911 that each costs Porsche 1,999,000 kidneys to produce. Closest thing we can hope for would be road legal 911 RSR, which is still largely unlikely, Still I think the message should be: we all miss 90s but sadly it's long gone and won't back. so man just let it go and look forward.

I would be open to it, but only if the Mclaren F1 GT and Mercedes CLK GTR Street Version came to GT7 aswell to join the 911 GT1 Street version already in the game. As a balance.

@@Dimension2010 I still haven't understood that, shaky cameras never really have been a problem for me in that way. At most, a camera like Assetto Corsa's chase cam will annoy me as it disorients me while driving. But I never get sick with driving games. My only problem in gaming at all has been vertigo sometimes when doing a level in a game that involves a high place and you have to look down.

@@RandomCarGuy17 Maybe my eyes and brain get older faster than rest of my body. But still there's a much worse case: 333sp in Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends jumps a lot wildly in first person POV everytime runs over tiny bump on track or the car understeers (which happens a lot because of similarly strange steering angle like everycar in NFS Porsche Unleashed). I'd hit my limit within five laps of spa. It's crazy.

@@Dimension2010 I'm not sure if age is a factor, I think it's based around different mental states people have in general or something. This is reminding me of someone that once told me that he couldn't play the original Spyro games on PS1 as they gave him motion sickness. Yeah that's gotta suck that a POV can mess with you that bad, all the more reason why developers need to allow for more camera options. But yeah, I don't know why some games keep doing the shaky 3rd person cam in general, I never found it engaging or fun. At least with Assetto Corsa on PC, there's camera mods to fix that; I can even give it the same rear camera as Gran Turismo 3, hehe.
