Sweet, i have a 83 SC Slate blue with blue leather interior too! I have thought of selling it a couple of times but when driving it i always regret and it still in my garage :-) And yes, all my 4 kids are allowed to use it as well.

Good examples of air cooled Porsches really hold their values. Excellent examples keep growing in value. The thing with Porsche, miles don’t effect their values as much as Ferraris.

Lovely colour scheme of the rose gold on the blue. Great to see that the car has patina, plenty of miles and is being driven 👏 Winter here in the UK now so I have garaged my 70's 911 until mid-March or very early April when the local country lanes will be drier and mud free. Really looking forward to hitting the road in the car again next Spring, and when the long Summer evenings kick in I am going to be out until 9 in the evening just driving about and enjoying the empty roads ☺️

A short-shift kit is a very simple and effective modification I would recommend. It does not cost much and is installed in only an hour or two (the gear adjustment is the fiddliest part as I recall). I installed it in my 1982 SC, and found it to be a great upgrade to the 915 gearbox. With new synchro rings as well you will effectively have a ‘new’ gearbox.

I put the wevo kit on my 86 and couldn’t agree more. Gearbox still feels quite analog, of course, but it does clean up the gates a bit.

Just wish they were worth more. Every other 911 has taken off basically -- even 912s --, but people will dump $40-50k into these in just overhauls and restorations and they're only commanding $50-70k. SCs just can't seem to really get going in the hottest Porsche market in history

Great video and a great car, the owner has a vision and he has executed it perfectly. A great driver car that you can have fun with and not worry about hurting it or it's value. I have always wanted an SC era 911 so when I finally make the move from my 2002 this would be just what I will be looking for.

You're $40k into an SC that will still need a trans and engine rebuild to the tune of $7-8K for the trans and $15-20K for the engine, and still only be a $40K car.

Wow. I am not aware of that depreciation dynamic at all. It’s obviously gonna be based on how much you paid for the car before finding out it needed expensive maintenance work done. Based on what I’ve seen, SC’s seem to be going for mid-30’s - mid-40’s depending on condition, rarity of color, mileage and available documentation. Cars that have had the head studs replaced, pop off valve installed (debate around whether this is needed or not) and chain tensioner upgrades are, I believe, the ones you want. I started off looking at SC’s when I found my 3.2. I still want to own an SC one day.
