Can you no longer select manual as an option? I only see the PDK option
@LeeH-Ranger8320 сағат бұрын
Okay 997 or 991.2 CS? I’m NOT happy that I waited for the 992.2 only to be disappointed that the 992.2 Carrera S is ONLY available in PDK and I wanted the manual transmission that was available in the 992.1. LASTLY WHERE / HOW would you search for the right 997 or 991.2? I live west of Austin, TX in the middle of the Texas hill country.

Wanted full leather interior, got a plastic dash instead...???
@RennthusiastКүн бұрын
Yep. 100%. After living with the full leather I realized it wasn’t worth the money, and also came to realize that I really appreciate the minimalism that comes across in a less “luxury” spec. Definitely covered all of this in the video in case you missed it. Was pretty specific. Thanks for watching and for commenting! 😄

Since 2014 I had a 991.1 Carrera,a 991.2 Carrera Cabrio, 991.2 Carrera S and in the last 2 years a 992.1 Carrera. I really like the 992 Carrera but sometimes I also miss the 991.2 Carrera S. The power,the noise,the interior design with physical buttons and even the door handles!😊 I'm thinking about selling the 992 a buy a 991.2 again! Nice videos. Congratulations!

What about a 991.2 C4S? Or a NA 991.1 S?

Those cost are for those who can't work (or don't want to) at all on the car.... Holding antique cars, it worths learning to work on those..... you'll know your car and you'll save a lot of money.... But it's a choice....

Interesting that since you've gone with 991... Why not the 991.1? Wouldn't natural aspiration in the 911 be more fun?

What size wheels are on your car F/R?

Admittedly I’ve only had mine for 6 weeks but I disagree with a lot of your points, car sounds fantastic, drives fantastic and gives every sensation through the steering and chassis I’d expect from a driver focused road legal Porsche. This is my 6th Porsche and already one of my favourites. I guess it’s down to the individual 👍🏼

It’s going to be really interesting to see what eventually tempts you to move on from the 991.2 S, particularly since you‘ve had the great fortune to reverse a case of seller’s regret with this car. Enjoying your channel because it’s as much about you as the cars. 👍

The 991 will go down as the best/most desirable of the water-cooled 911 generations... JMHO. The only debates that will never be settled is whether the traditional N/A nature of the 991.1 is favorable to the performance benefits of the turbo 991.2... or whether the traditional 7spd is favorable to the PDK... or whether the S is worth the extra cost versus the base Carrera. But all of those conversations are just Rolex versus Omega, versus Tudor... There is never a right answer when it comes to personal choices...

My lord i have done same thing. Traded a 19 T manual for a 992 gts manual. I dont like the 992 layout

I had a 993 C2 after 4 torsion bar 911. I wanted to get the car lower for better handling. I used MO30 OEM springs and snagged one of the last set Koni coil over struts built on the Boge shock struts. The fronts were adjustable with a knob on top. To adjust the rear they had to be removed. I called Koni and sent them the rears. They converted them to top knob adjustment. I got a OEM front spoiler and the factory aero kit spoiler and side rails.

I went from a 991.1 Carrera S to a 992 Carrera S. The 992 Carrera S is stupid fast for a Carrera S especially with the chrono and pdk. No doubt the 992 will be more capable than the 991 when you are pushing it to the limit. The front track on the 992 is wider and is more planted at high speeds and going fast into a corner with the 992 also doesn't feel like the ass wants to rotate over, the weight distribution is better. But I do miss my old 991. The 991 just felt smaller and it has a lot more old school 911 characteristics to it. If you've never driven or owned a 911 you would love how the 992 performs, but if you've driven many variations and generations of 911 you would have more fun in the 991. Daily driving them, the 992 feels like a Panamera Coupe, which makes it a very capable all around sports car, but the 991 just felt like a sports car. The 3.8 was slow but had some more characteristic and soul as well. Maybe I should look into a 991.2 c2s.

I ended up down a different line. I bought a 992.1 T without RAS and love it. Initially was looking at a 991.2 Touring but realised it felt too old on the interior. I wanted a modern car I could tour with but enjoy daily and the 992 T in manual really has more comforts to it that make it different to my 964 and 993 which give me the back to bones simplicity. Also for the more raw experience I chose to compliment the T with a GT4RS for the raw track work. As for T versus S, I want a less powerful engine as I like to rev out my cars given my love of the older air cooled cars. An S or a Touring which I was looking at just didnt allow me to press on the throttle as long which I like to do.

While I know a LOT of folks choose basic black as their interior choice, I can't imagine why... it looks dark and uninviting, while also hiding the special materials that might be used. To each their own.

I’ve had a Boxster and a Racing Yellow 991.1 for three years which had only 9k miles. I absolutely love this car. I’ve owned 105 cars in my life and my only regret is I should have bought the 911 earlier in life.

The only better thing about 991.2 vs 992 (even T) is the price. 992 is better in every way, including looks ( owner of both here and.. now have 992 base )

Now that I’m an older guy, I’ll finally have the opportunity to buy my first and forever Porsche 911 early next year. I just want to experience the whole process of configuration, allocation and delivery of a new 911 Carrera. I’m all in for a manual transmission car, though with its current refresh, looks like. I’ll have to wait.

Wondering the same. I have 981 GT4 and recently moved around and revved a 991.2 GTS in a parking lot and felt it alot more calm and less drama than my GT4. I think I will hold onto my GT4 for a while.

Some great points here. I'm going even further back in time with my 997 and am '85 911. The new ones do nothing for me. Bloated and over-engineered.

Interesting enough, the WSJ had an article this week about people preferring the older, more mechanical feel of vehicles. You hit the nail on the head with the 997.2 compared to your new 911 T.
