Porsche 928 URO lower radiator hose clearance issue

Shows Porsche 928 S4, Porsche lower radiator hose and aftermarket URO lower radiator hose dimension differences. Shows a failed URO hose due to a clearance issue. Shows fitment tips for a new URO hose for adequate clearance.
I've found the URO lower radiator hose to be shorter, and therefore requires more attention than the Porsche hose to ensure clearance, particularly with the alternator. Minimizing URO hose coupling at the thermostat housing and maximizing coupling to the radiator helps clearance margin.

Make sure you zip tie the hose to the “bracket “ on the radiator at the mid point. This keeps the hose Away from the alternator. By the way that’s a clean engine!

Good to see another Porsche video, can you not buy a genuine hose from Porsche, maybe it would then fit okay, or are they to dear or unobtainable.

Porsche hoses are available at close to 10x the cost. I will monitor the URO hose, and will go back to Porsche hose if clearance problems develop again. As an added measure, one could trim the URO hose a bit at the radiator to offer a bit more alternator clearance when fully pushed on.

These hoses likely came from him, but they are also widely available as an aftermarket option. They have the same interchange part number. The URO hoses I've seen are consistent with each other, just a bit different from the Porsche hoses, so they warrant extra care during installation. Porsche hoses have better fitment, but are also a bit more expensive.
