I have a 1983 944. I noticed that when I try to screw the upper console face plate (has pressure gauge and clock), the bottom of the console doesn't sit flush with the faceplate below it that has the heater controls. There's two screws that fasten the top, but nothing holding the bottom flush so it bulges out. Any solutions? Or, am I missing somethinig? is there a tab that holds the bottom in? I'm thinking of making one.

Sorry for such a late reply, but for future reference on the heater control face plate there are too tiny little alignment tabs that slide into the upper center console plate that holds the clock ac controls and the oil pressure gauge. To hold that in are two tiny little 7mm screws that need to be carefully threaded in as to not crack the mounting tabs that hold that lower plate together with the upper portion.

Hey do you know if they make a single din touch screen head unit with gauges for the 944 n/a early models

Any single din should fit, if you can find one that’s touch screen is another story. I couldn’t find one besides the Porsche one that had CarPlay installed in it. To add gauges your best bet would probably be to install a gauge pod somewhere. What I usually saw people do was add gauges where that speaker grill is above those vents in the center console.
