Always love these analysis videos. Congratulations to Manthey racing for this achievement. To think that this can potentially go even faster is pretty mental. I am sure a lot of GT3 owners will still get the kit. No one will say if only it was a second or two quicker then I'd consider it. Keyboard warriors maybe.

the lap certainly didn't look super clean at various points, but it just shows how on the limit it was and how difficult/challenging it is to nail a 20k Nurburgring lap...congrats to the manthey team, I'm sure the RS version with active aero and stuff will just be more mindblowing.

having followed a v.fast 991.2 GTRSMR recently in a GT4RS - I can say that the KW MR suspension setup greatly adds to the stability of that platform at speed ... my belief is that this is the primary contributor to MR performance at the 'Ring - of course a "little extra" downforce does not hurt either!

Hi Misha, I'm 100% they tuned the engine with a non-OPF exhaust, the car is doing 282 km/h at the end of the straight line instead of 279 km/h of the stock car, this is absolutely not possible with that much aero upgrades even with Kevin behind the wheel, I tuned a new GT3 last week in my company and got + 40hp with exhaust + tune, that's the only way to make that possibile. Ok the new tarmac but if compare the speed before you see higher speed in the MR which is crazy.

I don't know much about car racing but in terms of motorcycle racing, temperature of the track could change someone's lap times by nearly a second off on a 5km course. So on a long track like this, should it not make a pretty big difference in terms of times? I mean comparing two cars that were tested in totally different days.

4 seconds over a 7 minute lap is not really something we can say for sure is an improvement. Surely equivalently 1 second difference over a 1:45 lap at Spa in an F1 car is significant difference compared to your peers in the same qualifying session. But here it is a much longer track, different weather conditions, different tarmac conditions. Simply by doing 6 laps on the same day may lead to a 4 second improvement compared to just doing 2 flying laps. For sure we can see the GT3 MR lap was pushing harder. The previous GT2RS MR, however it was quite clear the car was transformed from a great track car, to a godly track car.

Notice how digital the throttle-brake usage is. Mostly just 0% or 100%. Very little feathering with both. And even in places where you see some throttle control it is mostly just like two stage - just a little wait/hesitation at 50% and then quickly up to 100%. For a driver, I wonder if it is that enjoyable to have such a digital behaviour. Again, to drive a slow car fast can be as fun as to drive a fast car slow/fast.
