993 Porsche are up with suspension, you can stick 4 fingers between tire and fender, all 993 are like that from factory , purpose is to clear drive ways so won’t scratch the bumper Most 993 owners use it as a weekend car may be summer time

I believe the transmission on the 993 is made by Mercedes Benz ESPECIALLY that period time they did share many parts including the transmission

Misha, are you familiar with Singer's DLS Project? Here's a KZbin link - kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5jLm59oqa-mpdE - it's a 1972 Carrera RS, motor bored & stroked to 4 Litre, everything lighter and modernised. This was a US$2 million no expense spared project, I think Michelin even made custom tyres for it. There's a lot there to be inspired by when looking at the DSL cars, things don't need to be expensive to be special tho. edit: My bad, it's a 964. Has a duckbill like a 2.7 RS. Phone was clamped to the dash while I was watching in the drive thru LOL

@@qalba3016 The G50 transmissions in all 964s and 993s were developed by Porsche and made by Getrag. Porsche got parts from Mercedes-Benz at that time not for their cars, but for the Mercedes-Benz W124 500E which was assembled at Porsche.

Dry ice is simply frozen CO2. No idea how the blasting works. But the dry ice goes from solid to gas - no liquid phase. I guess it is used as it is unlikely to damage the car, but the stream is powerful enough to remove dirt and some rust?

At 6 mins 15 secs, the guy mentions changing the brakes for the "Big reds" from 964 & 993 Turbo that everyone knows. For the 2wd 993 RS. the front calipers are the same as the Turbo variant, on the rears the body of the "Big red" is the same , but the 2wd RS, "Big red" has larger pistons fitted as does the GT2. Porsche obviously did this for a reason? If you are going into this as thoroughly as you appear to be using original Porsche parts., I would look into RS specific rear calipers.

Ok...so modern components on a 30 year old chassis...and what about chassis Flex ? The rigidity of that chassis might be up to par by 1993 standarts...not by 2021. The same way we all saw that modern rubber and agressive compound didn't improve the cars dinamic...because the (old) suspension was not on par, we can conclude that, with all mods done, the dinamincs will not be what they potentiacialy could...because...the chassis rigidity was not adressed. Food for thought. Cheers
@rsajay62563 жыл бұрын
Yeah, braces between the shock mounts may be needed. But it is a RS variant Porsche so it may be okay already. I was more worried when the words 4 litre engine came up. This is an air cooled 911. It can probably be bored and stroked to 4 litre like Singer did with their DLS Project car and that's 500hp
@gonncalomariamonteiro41763 жыл бұрын
