It does have the diff lock. It came without air suspension so adding it wasn’t the move. And honestly if it had air struts I may have still replaced them with the springs for simplicity and cost

The idea is to keep the working angles of the suspension and drive lines closer to stock. I don’t think it was 100% necessary but avoiding more extreme drive shaft angles does sound like a decent idea.

Looks awesome man. I'm thinking about picking up a cayenne soon. Not sure if I want the NA V8 or just grab a base with the VR6 (bc VW exp). I don't plan on hauling just overland fun
@Sfdgarage2 жыл бұрын
From my reading, the vr6 and na v8 seem to have the similar amount of problems. I was throughly impressed with the amount of power out of this v8. Like you I don’t think I would spring for the turbo model though, just more to go wrong
@defnotteek2 жыл бұрын
@@Sfdgarage I'd be more comfortable with the VR6 just since I know it better after working on VWs but I'm pretty sure MPG is about the same for the V8 amd that sound with just the muffler bypass is awesome. Definitely not too keen on a bigger engine with more spinny bits lol

@@Sfdgarage In your opinion, What do you think the biggest downfall is to doing something like this? I grew up a Honda autocross/road race guy so reliability is definitely something I love for sure.. with the 955 it seems like transfer cases coil packs blah blah blah seem to be a common issue but not sure really how common. Figured I'd pick your brain! And thanks as always!

@@DM007x definitely have to find one with really good service records. This one has over 150k miles but was maintained at the same dealership it’s whole life. After doing all the preventative work in this video we haven’t had a single issue with it over the last 3k miles. What stereo is that, finding it hard to find a different stereo that isn’t a cheap Chinese made eBay one so not sure on the quality and if it works with the steering wheel controls??
@Sfdgarage2 жыл бұрын
This was the Xtrons Andriod based touch screen unit. Basically just a Tablet running headunit functions. Install was easy on this one, no instructions but if you’ve installed a couple it’s kinda straight forward. Needed an antenna adaptor which wasn’t included, but functionally wise it works pretty well. Bluetooth hooks right up and radio works as it should along with the steering wheel controls. It looks 10x better hands down, but has a long boot up time and isn’t super super smooth but that’s just kinda what you get with headunits like this
@MWise-kq3jy2 жыл бұрын
@@Sfdgarage Did you have to use any kind of adapter module to connect the head unit? Did your Cayenne have the Bose system?
@Sfdgarage2 жыл бұрын
@@MWise-kq3jy nope the unit came with two different adaptors which one of worked perfect. This one does have the Bose system which I didn’t touch and operates normally. The only adaptor I needed was a single to double fakra antenna cable. The cayenne has two antenna connections and the headunit only has one. Without both plugged in you won’t have sound output
