I have a 2rs and a new gt3rs (and had the old 991.2 3rs weissach) Give it the beans man, it's easier to drive than the 3rs minus the brakes instant feeling. It has fantastic traction. Love it.

Sounded a lot better than I imagined it would, was expecting it to be quite muted like a 911 turbo. The GT3 is more of a screamer being n/a, but as you said 200bhp more and a shed load more torque makes it worth it. Agree on the spec also, that is a fine example.

100% agree with you about driving the PDK in full manual mode all the time - I also HATE the lurch down through gears on 'kick down' - horrible - I always take full control then I know exactly what I'm getting at all times.

Great review of a great car. Just to point out that actually the 991 GT2 RS Clubsport was specifically developed for the new GT2 European championship launched by SRO. Over the seasons Porsche have released updates, the most significant being an Evo package making them even wider with bolt on fender flares like the original 993 GT2. Their next race is Spa 24hr weekend. 👍

.Congratulations on a fantastic in depth review of what is in my mind the greatest 911 of all time..As..someone who drives a fairly modified 997 turbo i have lusted after a gt2rs since its launch. If i ever found myself in a position to buy one i would not hesitate for a minute. I really do think you should go for it.

Indeed the GT2RS is a BEAST, and one worthy of your garage! 340K is not cheap, but not expensive either given the price of new performance cars. This is a limited number and will only INCREASE in value due to the reasons as you state in your summary. Do it! Oh, the 992GT2RS has been spotted at the 'Ring' testing.

Actually, the 917 had NACA ducts at front and 936 had the side intake as a NACA, the "Jules" car. 908/3 had them at rear. In the late 1960s you could find them everywhere in racing world.

Am interested in what the other car you refer to might be, hope the video comes soon. As for whether you should get this instead of your GT3 I think there is a valid comparison to the F40. The cars with the greatest value are those at the pinnacle and your touring isn’t, whereas this is. If it was your only treat car the choice might be different due to more regular usability, but 10p says the % growth on this over the touring will be at least 20% higher at the end of 5 years

Once followed a GT2 RS through the Rouen tunnel on way to Le Mans, the noise was absolutely epic. Shame that the Hampshire roads are so rubbish for driving and demonstrating a GT2 RS. Dream car for track use.
