Unless the car is delivered differently in the UK, the rear wing does have two angle of attack settings. The Wing mounts have two sets of rear holes.

@SuspensionSecrets you have to remove flaps under front wheel arches when adjusting the wing to full attack. To bring the balance back. 6:42

It seems that you have fixed the inner rear tire overheating issue in this video but the fix was not mentioned. Was it a data collection problem (sensor picked up the radiation from exhaust muffler instead of true tire temp) or caused by the aggressive camber? If it’s radiation how did you get around it? I imagine one simple way is to deduct a constant value from the inner tire sections but I could be wrong. I’ve been following your GT4 upgrade series religiously since the beginning and you did an incredible job being responsive to the questions in the comment section, and even made an entire video addressing many of them. This truly shows that you stand behind your products and know your stuff! I myself is considering suspension upgrades for my 981 Spyder as a 50:50 road trip / track car and wonder if the GT4 parts could be applied to my car. Again, amazing work and congrats!! 🎉

Thanks for the comment and really pleased you’re enjoying the series. So we haven’t actually addressed the rear internal tyre temperatures just yet. We think it is due to the exhaust manifold running close to the rim and tyre and heating the compound and not allowing it to cool effectively. However in this video, the rain water was keeping the tyres very cool so hiding the heating factor. You can actually still see the heating of the inner edges compared to the rest of the tyre in the overlays as the inner edges go to green whilst the rest of the tyre is still blue due to the water cooling the compound down rapidly. We will be taking a closer look at the heating issues and properly diagnosing where the heat is coming from and then putting a solution in place for it so that video won’t be far off 👍 No problem at all. Feel free to drop us an email to discuss some 50/50 upgrades for the Spyder 👍

@@SuspensionSecrets There are a couple of ceramic zirconium coatings that can dramatically reduce radiated heat from the headers... worth looking into.

Love this series. Please keep it going. You should do a video on the newly released 992.2 GT3. Would be great to get your take on the updates.

For what it’s worth I was at the same day with a delivery spec car on the Dunlop Sportmaxx Race2 and it was absolutely savage to drive in the rain. 2 to 3 out of 5 oversteer all corners, to the point I didn’t even bother with the afternoon session after the downpour at the end of lunch. In the true dry though it moved completely the opposite way to a 2/5 understeer. I was quite surprised just how much the balance moved from wet to dry, to the point with the delivery car I’d be considering at least putting the front splitter stuffers back in for the wet if nothing else (and the rear wing in the ‘high’ downforce position). In other words, your changes sound quite a bit better than a delivery car is! Mine never killed me but it did make it tough to build confidence on a drying track.
@SuspensionSecrets2 ай бұрын
Awesome! Yes what you have highlighted there is exactly what we expect from the stock car. The lack of front camber means that in the dry there is no enough mid corner contact patch to generate enough grip, so the front end pushes in. But in the wet there is almost too little front camber compared to the rear so the front has much more grip than the rear in the wet conditions leading to that oversteer. Once you get the balance of front to rear camber correct it completely transforms the car in both scenarios 👍

How low has the car been lowered? It looks very low at the front and I wonder whether it’s too low for UK roads speed bumps etc
@stchupidee2 ай бұрын
Have you played with track width changes (on the front) to gain front grip?
@SuspensionSecrets2 ай бұрын
No track width changes yet as we are currently focusing on maximising tyre contact to get as much grip from the tyre as possible. We will be starting to go deeper into track widths, roll centres and scrub radius soon though

Subscribe for the updates? What updates, you left out the alignment, which is probably the most important suspension setting you could have given the settings and a caveat that they are for this specific car with this specific set up so they may not apply for everyone situation, but it’s still bizarre to just completely hide them.
