i went back and forth and drove the macan and m40 several times 3 months ago. In short the macan has a little better suspension but the technology and utility is far better in the bmw. And honestly the bmw is definitely underrated rgd power. I am getting 4.4 0-60 stock. As for this video thank you for the quick to the point comparison. I love the porsche interior more but the bmw idrive technology (have owned 10 bmws and 1 porsche ) is awesome . thanks for looking

Drag racing trying to show which car is faster is totally pointless if you do not eliminate the drivers' reaction time and skill! However, thanks for including the data from the timing gear so that we can draw our own conclusion, understanding that the Macan was in fact faster during these conditions - NOT the BMW.

Personally I enjoy the difference in reaction times. For me it’s not just about the cars and which will be faster with perfect reaction times and etc. The fun is seeing how a 0.1s delay can cost you the victory, how a little loss of traction can make such a big difference at the end. These “mistakes” are what I personally find entertaining and give me something to talk about with my friends and also speculate what the outcome would’ve actually been.

Is the Macan Turbo pre-facelift version with 3.6T? I think the current one is with the 2.9T engine but still 440HP. It's great to put X4m40i here. The X4M would make the race kinda boring.

Hey Tseno, I'm in the market for a sporty SUV. What would you choose - Macan GTS or X4 M40i? I will use it as a daily driver and family car for longer trips. Boot capacity and size is perfectly OK on both - we currently fit in much smaller car.

If the price of a similarly matched between the two, pick the Macan GTS, what I can tell you about my 2018 m40i, 2 years and 30 000 km and not a single issue with the car. If you find a good deal on the m40i, is amazing car to go for. The combo of the 8 Spd ZF and the B58 engine is just perfect. Build quality, cabin isolation and refinement is better than SQ5 and GLC43. Good luck!

It would have been unfair, the x4m has 510hp in the competition version and 480 in the regular one. Plus it’s lighter. It runs 0-100 in 3.7 and 1/4 mile is 1/2 sec quicker...

Many reasons, one is the dense fog, when driving at 200 I’m/h it’s like you are about to hit a Wall... second is the speed limit index of the winter tyres. We don’t want to risk accident at higher speeds. Rolling races will be back very soon as soon as weather gets a bit better here😊

The M40i was 387 hp starting in 2019. So, the mod probably took it closer to 455.

@@nzjinkim 382 HP is Mechanical Horsepower, it is used in the USA and other countries that use the imperial measuring system. For Europe and almost every other country around the world, engineers use Metric Horsepower, PS. 382 HP=387PS if you use the conversion table.

the macan turbo is exactly in between with its 440hp. The x3m is 470+ hp, competition 510hp and stock m40i - 360hp. This is why I raced my stage 1 x4 m40i with 410hp.

Porsche doesn't stand behind the quality of their vehicles. The ransfer case on my 2015 Macan S has failed twice now in only 27,000 miles. This is a known issue which caused Porsche to extend their warranty to 7 ys. Their "improved" transfer case lasted only 2 years 2 months and 9,000 miles. I am out of warranty by 6 weeks and Porsche turns their back on problem and sticks me for $3,200 repair. Don't buy a Porsche w/o extended warranty for entire length of time you expect to own it. #1 rated warranty company - Endurance - won't even sell coverage on Macan. That should tell Porsche and all potential buyers something. Customer experience is far from an expected premium car brand experience. My next car will be a BMW

We just had the valve body go out in our '17 Macan S and it cost $4500 to repair. I'm grateful it didn't need a new PDK but still! I test drove an X3 m40i and trading in the Macan for it 😁

I was really surprised at the power and handling of the X3 M40i. I didn't think it would even compare to the Macan, but I was really impressed.
