Great video. Best conclusion ever. I own all 3 cars, the manual GT3, GT3 RS and GT2 RS and you are spot on. Still GT3 manual is my absolute favorite....I enjoy the GT3 manual best on the public roads and the GT3 RS best on track. GT2 RS is so so so capable especially on track and you can beat everyone with ease, and you attain insane speeds effortlessly, but also so boring especially on public roads although a very capable car but it can never get me that excited as the other 2 cars do. Here is the telling part....I bought all 3 cars around same time about a year ago, and currently has 9000 miles on GT3, 2500 miles on GT3 RS and 890 miles on GT2 RS. This says it all...Mark

You have great taste with cars, incredible choices but what do you think about the Turbo and Turbo S?
@mqandil5 жыл бұрын
_ incognito _ thank you. I like the turbo and turbo very much, but they don’t have a wild soul like a GT3, or GT3 RS, or GT4. Said that, The turbo would be a great daily car and possibly even a family car if you have 1 or 2 small children. It is an all weather machine that you could enjoy everyday regardless of the weather, or road. But if you must sin or have an affair then you drive a GT3 or GT3 RS on the weekend. Hope this answers your question
@mqandil5 жыл бұрын
Paul Paul Honestly I am never worried about the miles. Only reason I buy the car so I can enjoy them.....I put 46K on my old Carrera GT and ended up selling it after going through few clutches, and I also added 53K on old 458 Ferrari and I would not hesitate to do the same on the GT2 RS or any other car. I had 22K miles on my 991.1 GT3 and 2 engines replaced by Porsche in matter of 3 years before ditching it for the manual GT3.....Only reason I don’t drive GT2 RS much, it is because it really must be driven on track to enjoy it. On the street, to enjoy that car, you either end up in Jail or dead as the limits are so high and you have no sense of speed. I found myself approaching corners 30 or 40 miles higher than I thought as I was going as it feels so stable and you loose sense of speed unless you are constantly staring at the speedometer. The car can’t be fully appreciated or enjoyed on the street. Very capable machine but it wants to put me in jail or in the grave. Take your pick! Mark

Great content again James, manual gearbox wins all the time for me, far more engaging drive! The RS cars have there place on track but on the road , GT3 all day long for me, and that colour is just WOW!

Awesome video Mr. JWW. I have owned and driven all three cars. I recently traded my manual 997.2 GT3RS for a GT2RS 991 and I have to say, I really miss my GT3RS. The GT3 was more enjoyable in the streets and the sound was more exhilarating. I also have had problems with my GT2RS where I was in the canyons here in California and three times I have had traction control go out on me in the middle of my drives and twice to the dealer. They finally replaced one spark plug for misfire so I and hoping this will be the last time. You were completely right about the GT2RS in that you can't enjoy the car fully unless you are on the track. It's hard driving this car in the streets of Los Angeles. Thank you again for this excellent video.

Your comments about heel/toe braking are what led me to go from a manual tranny GT3 to a PDK Turbo five years ago. But the most beautiful thing about the manual 991 GT3 is that it matches the revs during downshifts for you (in sport mode)!! This is an underestimated feature that doesn’t seem to get noticed/mentioned enough!! So glad I got back into a manual GT3!

Awesome video brother. What really stood out to me is how much less theater there is in a GT2. After listening to the GT3s wail for 14 minutes, it sounded as if you were short shifting the whole time in the GT2, even though we know you were not. I love my GT3. Makes grocery getting that much better :D

I drive what I can afford; a 2011 997.2 C2S w/ turbo-model wheels (305 mm rear stickies), and it takes corners like a mother- and swoons through traffic like a rocket, but... bloody hell would I love to have those three in my garage. TBH my dream car would be either that 991 gen 2 manual GT3 or the PDK GT3 RS. The notion of revving to 9K and no turbos required is so, so awesome. Great video James, lucky you my friend!

Had the privilege to sit inside the new GT3 and i fell in love with it, yes someone will always have a higher model with more power and features but ill still take the regular GT3, manual with the carbon seats. 500HP is plenty.

I love the way you pushed those cars; come out easy and steadily get faster. I think you really tested them very well man. I think the seamless gear shifts on the GT3RS suited the track best between the GT3's, the braking into corners and finding the apex was clearly confidence inspiring, you were on it really quick. The GT2 is just a beast! The speed you were catching other cars... That was awesome! :)
