Hi there, love your delivery. I decided to make a list to see how many drawbacks I could come up with, or reasons not to buy an electric car. I came up with 63 so far. This is it. Electric car drawbacks 1. EV cars are much heavier than an ICE car. 2. Heavy use of tyres. 3. Slower charging than petrol/diesel cars. 4. Possible queue/long wait for charger. 5. Lithiun-ion batteries burn at much higher temperatures than a petrol fire (3,000 vs 850), did they tell you about that when you thought about putting your family in one? 6. Thermal runaway fires spit long flames. 7. The burning batteries expell explosive gas and can explode. 8. They burn hot enough to melt concrete. 9. Range is not as good as an ICE car. 10. They are not as effective in colder climates (in winter range is reduced). 11. Having periferies on reduces the range (heater, lights, wipers, air-con, windscreen washers, radio). 12. They move silently so are more likely to have an accident with a pedestrian. 13. Government/police will be able to simply switch them off. 14. Millions of car mechanics could lose their jobs due to less servicing requirements. 15. Hundreds of car dealers will close due to reduced sales. 16. Dozens of car manufacturers will collapse as they cannot make them cheaply enough. 17. People will not buy them as they are being forced to give up their ICE cars. 18. People cannot afford to buy them as they are too expensive. 19. The tax take from cars will be reduced as people can no longer afford to run a car. 20. Shipping companies are refusing to carry electric cars. 21. Car parks are refusing to allow electric cars in. 22. A burning EV is far more dangerous to be trapped in due to the high temp/speed of spread etc. 23. A burning EV will set fire to anything else near to it, due to the temp (other cars, your house). 24. A crashed EV is more difficult and more expensive to repair than a comparable ICE car. 25. The battery integrity cannot be guaranteed after a crash. 26. Insurance companies are usually having to write an EV car off after a crash rather than repair. 27. Insurance prices are rising fast due to the proliferation of EV fires. 28. Expensive specialised repair tools and training is required. 29. People who enjoy driving like ICE cars. 30. Cheap cars means a boyant economy, our government is throwing that away for arguable benefits. 31. A burning EV produces noxious gasses. 32. A burning EV poisons the water supply from the runoff from the fire brigade water hoses. 33. A burning EV once extinguished can reignite itself. 34. EV batteries can ignite spontaneously at any time wether being in use/charged or not. 35. For the best longevity EV batteries should only be charged to 80%. 36. For the best longevity EV batteries should only be discharged to 20%. 37. EV car resale values plummet, when compared to ICE cars. 38. Due to their extra weight EV cars wear out the road surface more. 39. We are being forced to stop buying ICE cars. 40. We are only being given the choice of buying EV cars. 41. The electricty grid cannot handle everybody having an EV vehicle. 42. Millions of jobs are likely to be lost (mechanics, builders, drivers not suitable for deliveries). 43. When buying an EV second-hand you have no idea how long the battery will last. 44. Replacing an EV battery costs between £15,000 to £30,000 plus. 45. A charging point has to be installed at your home. 46. Your electricity bill will go up. 47. Public charging points may not be working. 48. You may not be able to find a public charging point. 49. You charging point could be vandalised, putting you in a position of being unable to charge. 50. As the range is less than an ICE car you are more likely to be put in danger by running out. 51. There is no cheap or easy way to recycle an EV battery. 52. The raw materials for EV batteries are more scarce (cobalt, silver, gold, lithium etc.). 53. The raw materials for EV batteries are mined by slave/child labour. 54. The raw materials for EV batteries mostly come from China (shipping emissions). 55. Tyres for EVs are more expensive due to having to control more load for the size of car. 56. EV fires typically consume 10x the amount of water to extinguish. 57. When left unused the charge in the battery is slowly lost. 58. Many aftermarket companies will have to close. 59. Power delivery is not suitable for towing. 60. ICE cars have had over 100 years of development. 61. All the money car manufacturers have previously invested in trying to make ICE cars more efficient will be thrown away. 62. With the government subsidies that are being paid for infrastructure etc. ICE car drivers are effectively paying for EVs. 63. The economy is collapsing, we are staring a depression in the face, and it is just not the right time to be forking out unnecesaarily trying to 'save the world because of debatable climate change arguments' when China is doing NOTHING, and is building a new coal fired power station every week. We must stop this madness!! All the best, keep up the good work.

I believe a lot of Porsche's sensitivity to interest rates are Cayennes, Macans, 718s, etc. Most buyers finance those. Porsche doesn't make much money selling their GT products in the big scheme of their profits.

I totally agree with you and would do the same! I will never own an electric car until my whole existence shifts! We don’t buy just for looks and they had to FAFO, yes many have been sold. Just goes to show who has a soul and who doesn’t😄✅ Long live GASOLINE
