Saturday 17/06/17 on our way up to Port Douglas we seen this big fella and his lady as we were crossing one of the bridges and had to launch the drone to get a quick video and some photos. He was not phased one little bit didn't even flinch.... Amazing creatures xx

Is it normal that I’m getting anxiety just watching this? I’ve had nightmares about crocs since I was a child, it was a recurring dream where I’d be in a swamp navigating it waist- high.. I would always wake up sweat drenched .I wonder if in a previous life I was eaten by a croc.🤭

Living in America we don't get to see crocs very often. I've seen a few big ones down on south Florida, our crocs over here are very shy we've never had a deadly croc attack that I know if, gators are the culprit's over here. Althout over the last few years they have found a few Nile crocs in the glades. I couldn't imagine seeing something that big swimming towards you. Such awesome animals. Great video
@Hi-re8mt
@Hi-re8mt 3 жыл бұрын
@Rob Bishop if you saw Nile crocs then you should report where you saw them to either the police or animal control or something. Nile crocs could kill off the gator population since they’re much more aggressive. Plus, they could potentially go after people more often than alligators.

@@Hi-re8mt it has been confirmed that their are (or were) nile crocs in florida, several have been trapped by FWC, but I dont think since then there have been any sightings or trappings of them since. the ones they got I think they identified as siblings, so not a large population by any means. they also confirmed that they were not related to any nile crocs in captivity in florida, so they know they didnt escape, likely some miscreant let them loose....

Great footage, very good control and manoeuvring of the drone, I am very much fascinated and obsessed with the salties. They are powerful creatures, been to Australia few times, but never been to that part of the country. You must visit Bhitarkanika national park in India. It's too home to largest salties. They are well protected and breeding well there.

Yes there are some big ones up north. Used to see them daily when I was driving over the bridge into port douglas on my way back from work in the afternoons. They were placed under strict protection in the 1970's due to them nearly being wiped out completely by culling. They can also be found in freshwater also not just saltwater

This is how REALLY big croc's will be spotted in the future. Interestingly, the shadow of your drone is the same size as the drone itself and the size of the croc (or any in such an instance) could be calculated using it as the standard. It seems the shadow would be bigger than the drone to many, but since the sun is so distant it's virtually exact. Cool vid!

My family and I went to Port Douglas one year for a holiday, didn't know that they had crocs anywhere. We went for a bbq and there was the beach about 30 meters from us so my brother and I went down on the beach not seeing the signs about crocodiles. We were at the waters edge and little did we know that there was a guy 100 meters away from us trying to catch a croc. My Mum screamed at us saying get back here, we were throwing stuff in the water so could have been eaten by a croc.

Am not entirely sure but that huge croc looks like it's to tired or it's just haven't been fully energized by the sun to react in a presence of a drone?? Because most crocs would've jumped right into the water by now after noticing a drone hovering above them. It wouldn't surprise me if you caught them in the cold morning.

@abhishek, Mo was culled early this year as there was an incident, but there are so many big crocs in the Mowbray, they are amazing to see. :)

@@MelissaHalliday I have to tell you this thing, while we were packing, my friends drone (in a bag) rolled over into water. My mate decided to go into water to bring it back. It made me cringe. He stepped in water and slipped, fortunately he came back to land safely. I got upset from this behavior of his, as crocs were only 30 metres away from us. I said to him that his mother who is in Brisbane would eat me alive if something happened to him haha. Ps : I did advice him to let go of drone, and can share mine as true friend would do

Crocodile is the police officer of the river.thier task is to take care of all the river resources. If human against the law of the river,the river police will catch you and bite you. Mother nature right Vs Human rights. Be respectful to all mother natures. Do what the romers do, when we are in Rome.

I hate crocodiles and alligators. There's no negotiating with them. 80 million years of eating good in the neighborhood. When they want you they get you. 🤯
