So cool to watch a 'blast from the past'..Had to refresh my memories of Grand Turk for our visit in December 2024! Thanks for the awesome video!

We walked down to Jack's shack when we were there. You get a free shot of Rum if you sign up on the website for it. The beach was basically empty down there and we did notice it was a lot clearer and the sand was like powder. I highly recommend that you guys walk down there. I think it was like $15 for them to set up 2 chairs and an umbrella for you. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR SUNSCREEN and reapply! I wore sunscreen and forgot to reapply and got scorched! The sun here is very extremem compared to the US. They also had horseback rides along the beach. The walk to Jack's shack was an easy walk along the beach, even with my knee issues and worth the walk to get away from the crowd near the ship. Next time we hope to explore the right side of the island first, as we never made it there. Lot's of freebies and raffles in the shops there. Beautiful Tanzanite jewelry if you are looking for that. Get your ship's shopping guide to help you with bargains. This is my favorite port thus far besides Carnival's private island of Half Moon Cay. I love your videos by the way! You give a lot more info then other reviewers as to what is free and walkable, which is what we look for in a cruise. Thank you.

My family have been there the last 2 years.We stay in a house,in a neighborhood only a short ride from the port and airport. The local people are soooooo nice ,the beach is 40 meters away,every part of the island is so much fun.If you dont want to just spend a day off the ship,Grand Turk is the best place to go and RELAX on your vacation.

Jack's Shack is the best,! You'll have to pay a little for a chair and umbrella but way less crowded. Food and drinks are great. This is where you'll find the ships crew on their day off. We had a great time with them there. Had a Hugh stingray swim right by me there. And the Topher and calypso are fun to watch. So if you want a peaceful day at the beach ,it's worth the walk.

Cool new series. Great info. November will be my 4th time in Grand Turk. We usually just walk around the shops there. My friend Sandie and I were on the Destiny in 2010 and we did what was called the Dune Buggy Adventure. Probably what us now the ATV Adventure. Other than having to wear heavy helmets, it was an absolute blast. We saw pretty much the entire island and stopped in several places. We might have to try the beach this time.

Our #1, most, most amazing excursion ever was in Grand Turk! We did it with a local company and got to snorkel, conch dive, and see stingrays at Gibbs Cay. It is truly one of our best moments in our life! The company took us by boat to different snorkeling spots that progressively got deeper. Then we snorkeled the "Amazing Wall". You can google it and see what it is! It drops 7,000 feet and is truly so amazing! Let me know if you want any information. Dee, I LOVE snorkeling like you do, and this one was so exciting! We went back to Grand Turk this past December 2021 and were the first ship back after Covid! But we had a shorter day (only 5 hours) and they weren't booking local excursions yet, so we just did a free beach day there this time. But I can't wait to go back and do the snorkeling tour again. I have the most amazing photos from that day!

We did Jack's Shack during our last cruise and while many people love this place it just wasn't for us. We don't know if we visited on a bad day....but we just did not feel as welcome as others have touted on Facebook and other blogs/vlogs. Staff made comments about us only ordering diet cokes....it was 9 am!!! We brought a license plate like many suggested. When we gave it to the staff, they rolled there eyes and said "Oh great another one!" and threw it in a box behind the bar. I wasn't expecting a grand parade and party...but a "Thanks, we gather all the new ones in this box and hang them once a week/month...whatever." Nothing. The local stray dogs were a little depressing but I know the Grand Turk animal folks are working hard to control the population. In all honesty I am jealous of the folks that love this place and have a good time. Perhaps in time we will give it another try....but this year we will be handing out at Margaritaville.

We've never made it down there, and I know some recent TripAdvisor reviews said that the crowds keep getting larger and larger down there, and some folks who used to love it are sort of staying away now. Huh. But yeah, every time we hop off the ship and see that free easy beach calling our name, we just never make it past there... :P

@@parodeejay This is why I love your page - we know you read the comments because you respond! I was hesitant to provide my experience because on some Facebook groups you get blasted for a sharing a not-so-happy experience. I saw someone recently mention the Beached Whale bar and that it is really good...so maybe we will visit there this next cruise. I don't like being a negative nelly but I think folks need both sides of the coin. The stray dogs really upset my husband. A momma dog hung out under our chairs all day. We gave her the remaining water from our bottles. Other dogs were drinking the ice water out of people's buckets of beer and others were drinking sea water. I'll have to read the TripAdvisor reviews.

We are going on The Magic in Jan 2022. Grand Turk, Amber Cove, & Half Moon Cay. Going to do the whale watching adventure seasonal. They say January is a good time to see the whales. Will let you know after our cruise.

We've done Mahogany Bay a few times, and usually hit up the free beach though the snorkeling isn't all that great. It's an awesome sandy beach to swim. We'll be back there in September as well on the Glory, and may try something different. But the free beach there is only for ship passengers (if you're on Carnival), and you have to show your card to access. They had all sorts of rentals from what I can remember, but I may have to go back and check our footage to make sure jet skis were an option, hah...

Great video. We go to Grand Turk for the first time this December. It looks really nice. I don't get in the water because I don't like all of the fish that come up to you! LOL! I was freaking out on that one video where they were all around you! Can you do Amber Cove? We will go there in December also.

Great Vlog. I have gone back through your vlogs before looking for ports that yall have gone to. so i love the fact that your going to start covering them as a Vlog of their own. I have been looking for info on Montego Bay. its ging to be our first port after two sea days and would like to get off the ship and look around. but not sure where to go at this port. Im not leaving on the cruise till April 2020. So if you can fit a Montego Bay Vlog in tht would rock.

Coincidentally just saw a public request from Jack Shack regarding their older dog Topher. I guess he loves to jump up in the air when tourists throw sand which provides him and the people entertainment. Sadly he's getting a little too old and it's hard on him so they have asked for people to assist him in taking it easier when visiting. Hopefully, he can, dogs usually get too much joy from doing what they like vs what they should. =)
