Port Huron, MI - The Final Miles of I-69/I-94 EB

Anyone who is curious, I-69 from Lapeer to I-94 in Port Huron was opened in December 1984. And I-94 from I-69 to the Blue Water Bridge opened in October 1964.

Never knew that portion of I-69 was 20 years newer than the last connection to Port Huron. Thanks for sharing!

@@EdwardW98 It's even older some of the bridges are dated as far back at 1978. If you look up the Martin Road bridge and the Capac Road bridge on the NBI you will see they were built in 1978-1979. The M-53 overpass was also built in 1979. Also the section from Taylor Road to I-94 was actually built in 1966 as M-21.

They did an awesome job reconstructing the whole area of the 94/69 around the Bluewater Bridge entry point.

I wish I-69 gets more construction south of Michigan. I mean, it's supposed to be another border to border route, even though most north south Interstate highways divisible by 5 are border to border routes.

How long was the trip and how did you have enough battery life for your camera?

The total recording time was about 1 hour, but I cut out half the video so ~30 minutes. I have a "dummy" battery which allows my camera to be directly plugged into my car's cigarette lighter so it can basically record until it overheats or runs out of memory.

Wondering here why I-69 is marked as East here, as it goes against the general rule of freeway numbering. Pros and cons of the Michigan road network?

At first I thought I forgot to change it to "NORTH". But you're right since it is a north/south freeway. But it does generally go east/west through Michigan!

It changes from a north-south freeway to an east-west freeway at Lansing at exactly milepost 81, where it intersects with I-96 for a few miles. They used to have signs that said this but they removed them in 2001 for same reason.
