Beautiful video. As a kid in the 60s I spent a few Saturdays on the east side of the inlet. My dad would beach the boat and set up a camp for the day with a grill, umbrella and chairs then we would go fishing out on the sound while my mom would stay on the beach. My family moved away from the Island when I was 10 and this is the spot I miss most. Thanks for the return trip!

Nice job & great choice of music. Port Jeff, along with the Three Villages to the west and Mt Sinai, Miler Place, Sound Beach & Rocky Point to the east, is the very best of Long Island. Just love it here. Hope you'll make more videos of this area because you're very good!

Really great video, loved it. As a boater who frequents this harbor it was beautiful to see from this perspective. Actually considering the Phantom Advanced. What are your thoughts on it versus your inspire. Great flying, hope I can handle that, thanks
@DailyDroneFPV9 жыл бұрын
+Leon Adler Thanks for watching! The phantom III series is very good, I would highly recommend the Phantom III advanced especially because DJI is having a 10 year anniversary sale right now on their website. In many ways, the phantom III advanced is comparable to the inspire 1. They have similar range (~3 miles) and similar flight times (15-20 minutes). However, the Phantom III advanced is smaller than the Inspire 1, thus it cannot carry a heavy payload. The stock zenmuse X3 camera for the inspire 1 is very similar to the cameras used in the Phantom III advanced and professional versions, but since the inspire is so much bigger it is also capable of carrying more substantial cameras, like the Zenmuse X5. If you have never owned a DJI drone before, I would get the Phantom III advanced or professional model, but If you are sure you want to be able to carry a more elaborate and sophisticated camera down the line, or if thermal imaging is very exciting to you, the Inspire 1 might be a better choice. Good luck with your decision!
@CaptainLeonsBoatingandMore9 жыл бұрын
+Daily Drone FPV Thanks for the quick reply. They now have a 4k model which has the camera of the professional but the range of the standard. I will stick with the advanced since range is more important and how much of a difference will I see between the 2.7k advanced vs. 4k pro cameras? I think they both surpass 1080P.
@DailyDroneFPV9 жыл бұрын
+Leon Adler Yes, 4K isn't a huge leap from 2k, and I film in 1080p 60 fps anyways because the low frame rates for the 2K or 4K make it difficult to get good footage if you're moving or turning quickly.

Great video! What is the range and how do you know when you are out too far?
@DailyDroneFPV9 жыл бұрын
+Paul Dua Thank you! The Inspire 1 has about a 3 mile range by line of sight. The images captured by the drone are sent via radio link directly to my smart phone while in flight. I view the images through an app on my iphone, and the app tells you all of the relevant information about the drone such as altitude, and distance. It also tells you signal strength for the radio control and the video link, so if you notice your signal is getting weak then you must turn back! But the Inspire 1 also has a GPS and a compass on board, so if you disconnect for some reason the drone is capable of flying back and landing by itself where you took off.

Very impressive. What cam were you using? Thought it could have been a little sharper. Amazing range with your drone. Wish you had shot the Oldfield Lighthouse but great shots of PJ Harbor, Setauket Harbor , Conscience Bay etc.
@DailyDroneFPV9 жыл бұрын
+Bob Emmerich Thank you! I was using my stock DJI Inspire 1 drone with the default Zenmuse X3 camera. The sharpness is likely due to a couple of factors: 1) like in this video, I typically film in 1080p at 60 FPS. I could also film in 4K but that only allows up to 24 fps or 30 fps for 2K, which is not high enough FPS for fast flying and yawing. 2) KZbin compresses video a fair amount so this is likely a little worse quality that what I actually filmed. I recently got the new Zenmuse x5 camera for the drone, which is a much better camera, so I'll have some videos of footage from that camera soon. Thanks again!

BTW, thanks for the tip "using creative commons music." I post my bike and kayak vids on Vimeo and use iTunes......stuff that can't be detected when my vids are converted. I have bought stuff from Fresh Music also ( royalty free ) but why pay when you can get it for zip and use it without worry.
@DailyDroneFPV9 жыл бұрын
Bob Emmerich You're very welcome! Figuring out the sound situation was actually the biggest problem I had for my channel, and I ended up procrastinating forever because I didn't know what kind of music I could use. Then I learned about "creative commons music" and I was very relieved to find many sources on the web for quality free creative commons tracks! I almost did the same thing you did and purchase royalty free tracks... but then I learned about the creative commons sources. Good luck with your videos ^^

Lovely sceneries just absolutely beautiful. The music is just noisy and not fitting kind of throw off the whole thing. You redo another one with some pop ambient instrumental type works well with these videos.

Why the titanic music though
@DailyDroneFPV4 жыл бұрын
This musical piece is called Canon in D (aka Pachelbel's Canon) and it is one of the most famous and recognizable pieces of music in history, and it was written in 1680 (long before Titanic). If the producers chose to use this music in the Titanic movie, that was probably because it is a musical classic that fits the time period. I have no idea, as I have not seen that movie in over a decade. I chose this piece for my flight because it is very popular, iconic, beautiful, and this particular recording is a royalty free version. It has nothing to do with Titanic.
