James Marape shared his vision for the nation’s future at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Paga Hill Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Satellite Casino. The ambitious project, spearheaded by international developers, is more than just a casino. With hotel rooms and top-tier facilities, this development is set to be completed in just six months, bringing new opportunities for tourism and employment. As highlighted by Prime Minister Marape, the casino will cater exclusively to overseas guests, tourists, and high-earning locals, positioning Port Moresby as a premier destination with world-class attractions.
Mr. Peter Barge, Chairman of the Paga Hill Development Company (PHDC), emphasised that this casino is designed with the highest standards in mind, adopting entry requirements similar to those of Singapore’s elite casinos. Paga Hill has the potential to become a luxury, entertainment and leisure hub. It is a prime location and it should be marketed as such to attract wealthy visitors and residents alike to spend their money at, boosting the local economy. If there is one thing rich people have a lot of, its a lot of money they have no idea what to do with. If we can capitalise on that and Market Paga Hill as a luxury destination we can attract wealthy individuals from Asia, Australia, Europe and the region to come here and spend their money.
