there's a way to do it and steal first place but you have to have the right orientation before you get picked up and I'm still having troubles finding the right time to use it cuz i keep seeing people use it on me and it's starting make me angry

he always sends you back to the exact same spot. if you turn left when you land, he picks you up closer to that spot. you can still make some time up, but ultimately its not really worth it

Have you ever finished Port Town II under 2'14" in Practice? My fastest time so far is 2'24"45 with Golden Fox, but I have the other backgrounds so far except Silence.

@@denimchicken104 I'm still nowhere there. I shaved off a few seconds from each vehicle from finding optimal turning spots and got better at avoiding the magnet strips, but the best time I have is 2'19"53 with Blue Falcon and 2'19"71 for Golden Fox. Fire Stingray and Wild Goose are stuck at 2'27". Fire Stingray won me my White Land I card background, so I'm not too bad with it, but I just can't find the way. It'd probably help if I had a real controller instead of those Joycons.

@@frost8077 I main Goose and this time seems damn near impossible. Managed 2:21.95 and I don’t know where those extra seconds are gonna come from. I was hoping the shortcut might help but it’s costing me more time than just running the track

To anyone trying to figure out how to get 2'14" the key seems to be using boosts primarily to get your speed back up to max for the straightaways. You can slow down for turns (try not to) but make sure to boost afterwards so you dont crawl back up to max speed. Check the speed number in the corner to see if you're at max speed or not (Fire Stingray is ~478). A good pace is around a ~32/33 second lap, but 1 34 probably won't kill your run. Also pro tip, hold -up- down when landing from a jump so you don't lose speed.
