Porta Bote Collapsible Trailer

Looks really good. Pretty much what I want. Without some sort of sketch/blue print and a parts list, I won't attempt it. I've just spent too much time before stopping and going frame by frame to figure out what to do. It's even harder to shop the parts cause all you can do is guess at what they are and sizes. Really, all considered, it's probably a lot cheaper for me to buy one for $350-400. It would get me in the water quicker that way, too. If you do have the parts list and a layout, I'd love to give it a try. Thanks for posting this.

The hitch is custom made/altered form a Harbot Frieght one. It sandwiches the PVC frame with a 1/4" steel plate underneath it. The wheels are on 1/2" bolts in 2" bushings, from the inside out.

Outstanding design. When I was looking at it at the beginning. I was like that going to fall apart. I was thinking put unions in that. Anyway. I Like Your idea better plus cheaper. Use Pins. Smart move and Cheaper. Also nicely done. From a plumber. Peace and God bless.

Nice. But some info on how you made it would help. Hows the trailer hitch made? I've seen simalier on the PBG page. Would be nice to see how well the boat sits on it. Maybe good for alot of pb people. Thanks

I have come up with a design for a trailer that is light weight enough to for 2 people too easily lift and place on top of a trailer or truck rack. trying to think of a good way to make it collapsable .

The trailer hitch is custom made starting with a Harbor Freight 2" / 50* weld on. I had to mod it to 45* to work with the std. PVC 45* & 90* angle pieces. It's sandwiched together with a matching bottom plate, two bolts with some inside alignment pieces. The Bote contributes to the overall integrity of the trailer. This trailer / dolly is not DOT rated or roadworthy and is for off-road use only. Next time I go out I'll post a video with the Bote on it.

great invention but how did you get the first black pc that is attached to the hitch of the car. also how did you connect it to the wheels. this would work great for my 12ft porta bote

nice concept but the design looks weak. although I do feel there is a need for such a type of trailer and I am also in the process of designing one for myself. have you used the trailer yet? post a video if you have please
