Except for Anderson vertical casement crank-out type windows which will leave a triangular shaped opening at both top and bottom. Use cardboard wrapped in tinfoil or saran to fill-in these gaps.

The information most are looking for is what temp will the AC keep your room. Not so much how easy it is to use. If you live in AZ heat is hot not like a northern state. So next time it would help us to know outside temp and what the unit is holding the room temp. Thank you

May I ask what size area you are cooling? To what temperature from what ambient temperature?

At 14K BTU it will probably do about 64 degrees at 650 sq feet. I just wonder if it loses BTU's because of the heat it may let in?

@@stumpmtsr the true btu of this ac is 7500 btu, it is stated on the box. this standard is called the SACC standard which accounts for heat from the hose and all the things that are not accounted in the main rating of this ac. on the box there are 2 ratings, 14 000 and 7 500. the smaller number is the true btu of this ac. in the start of the video 0:02 , you can see the box ratings. it is rated for a 550 sq ft room this accounts for the SACC true btu rating.

optionally the other port next to the exhaust port can be used also, all you need is another tube and another style of window insert that account for 2 tubes. this will increase the efficiency of the ac by a noticeable margin, the room will be much colder as there will be less heat entering the room from a negative air pressure caused by a single hose system. In a single hose system, the air exiting the room is taken from the room. the air that enters the room is warm outside air that enters because it has to replace the air that was vented out of the room by the single hose. the secondary hose will eliminate this issue by using air from the out side so that it dos not draw air from the room to cool the hot side of the ac.

I've never used a portable AC before, but the only question I have is related to the extenders. What is the maximum width they can expand to? I have large 40 inch windows and I want to be sure installation wont be an issue before I purchase. Thanks.

The water drains into a reservoir underneath that needs to be emptied regularly

The drain plug is sticking out below the circle vents. Hook the plastic tube to it and the other end can drain in a big plastic tub or get a long one to drain out the window.
