This is my portable off-grid Ham radio dual-band rig. I designed and built this myself, along with all of the 3D component design and manufacturing.

Awesome! Clean work. Idea: grind down to bare metal in lid groove and top edge of box, replace the rubber gasket with a braided metal stove gasket, and your kit is EMP protected. 👍

That would be on an individual case by case basis, as everyone would inevitably want different features. If they have the money to shell out for design time, I'd be more than happy to design a rig just for them.

Looks great. I'm working on a similar concept for my base station minus 3d printing. I went the sheet metal route mostly because I already had the tools to work with it and its durable. I respect the amount of engineering this takes now lol.

12Ah battery - I can charge via Solar or an AC outlet via the 12v DC jack.

Your chasis & Go Box turned out very professionally made! I have a similar chasis idea, but because I don't have a 3D Printer, I plan to use ABS sheets, to build the interior box. I want to include a small PC fan, with a thermostat controller. Possibly a 10 Amp, AC power supply too? I have rubber bumper feet, with neo-magnets stuck on, which are easily taken on / off, or moved. I have a Drock brand of battery monitor, for the Lifepo4 battery. I want to add a solar charge controller (& compact panel set, that fits into a Fat-50 can) if all that stuff will fit in the can!? Its been in the design stage for several years now! I am sure yours took a while too.

Just be sure to leave plenty of room for wiring and airflow. Get measurements all of the components you plan to fit inside, then cut the instrument faces out of paper. Lay everything out on a piece of cardboard, cut to the dimensions of your box, and see what fits. This way, you won't wast money on something that doesn't fit.

I designed all of the 3D-printed pieces myself using TinkerCad and a LOT of measuring.

I suppose you could if you wanted to. I wouldn't prefer it for this setup because there needs to be ventilation for heat buildup when transmitting. Either by a fan or open-air exhaust.

Some say in order to get the best results from these type of cans, it's possible to replace the rubber gasket with a conductive one and grind down the paint around the top rim and under the gasket on the lid to get full metal on metal contact resulting in the steel enclosure absorbing a majority of the RF.
