Wow! This showed up on my feed this morning. I have that Keter table and those clamps. I probably bought mine around the same time you put out this video. It's in my storage shed. I haven't used it in 5-6 years. Still like new. :)

This is exactly what I need at the moment. Haven’t reloaded for over 35 years and just bought an entire setup with no place to put it until my shed gets built. This will do the trick instantly. Thank you!

@@markr6754 The table is sold with a couple of different clamp styles and the ones that came with mine are an oddity. No big deal, as I never clamp the table down anyway. I'm sure you could rig up something similar with some T-slot bolts, washers, and wingnuts.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have been looking for a modular table option and this will work great!

We had limited space options so this idea caught my eye. We got the same table at Home Despot, I mean Home Depot, got some plywood cut and put together for a table top. We're using a Rockchucker supreme press to do 44-40 black powder cartridges and it's as steady as a rock. Plus it folds away to take up very little extra space. Really, really good idea plus you have flexibility for configuring the table to your individual needs. Cheers, Calamity Marcy

You could take a drill with a decent size bit and drill a hole maybe 1/4 of an inch into the wood at one spot where the edge of each washer sits on the table so your finger can get a purchase on the washers and not have to rely on your nails. Just a 30 second modification.

I live in an apartment, so I've been researching portable reloading setups. This looks great! Have you found anything that works better?

Nice setup. How much “wobble” is in the bench when seating bullets. Is it suitable for carpet or is hard flooring better?
@BigZhukov
@BigZhukov 2 жыл бұрын
Works just fine on either carpet or hard flooring. I don't notice any wobble when seating bullets. That work table is very sturdy.

Well how does it hold up? Is it sturdy to use the press on? Does the opposite side raise or pop up? Does it wobble while using the press?

frank tolin They came with the table. I've noticed on the Keter site that they sell the same workbench with yellow clamps that are different.

I have the keter. that's an awesome idea! so how does it hold up? I was wondering if it needed some "weights" to hold it steady. Another video with details of the tabletop would be awesome. How big are the holes for the clamps, etc? Thanks! great vid
@BigZhukov
@BigZhukov 10 жыл бұрын
Joe: Thanks for your comments. As far as how steady the table is: I don't know yet as I haven't tried. I took the video right after I completed the top last weekend and I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Once I resize some 7mag I'll let you know. As you know, the table is very stable and I don't see it being a huge problem. I'll add the construction details to the video itself.

What kind of clamps are those that are used!? I’m having difficulty finding them.
@BigZhukov
@BigZhukov 3 жыл бұрын
They're the ones that came with my particular version of the Keter. I don't even use them most of the time anyway. You can use some regular clamps to do the same thing and just attach them at the periphery.

@BigZHukov, interested in this setup, did the red clamps come with the Keter folding work table?
@BigZhukov
@BigZhukov 3 жыл бұрын
This particular one did (bought at Costco). The ones I see for sale usually have different clamps though. Turns out that I use it mostly without the clamps. The weight of the top is sufficient for almost everything. If the table top overhangs only slightly, you can use conventional clamps too.

Any issues on the up stroke? After resizing? Iv been thinking of something similar, but was thinking the up stroke would just pick up the table (Hornady L&L AP)
@Chogogo717
@Chogogo717 4 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing. Since the table can handle 1000lbs I figure I could hang weight on it to steady it. A couple of 25lbs shot bags or bucket of sand. I think we could make it work. For that matter strap the front edge down with a cargo strap. (Rock Chucker)

I only reload pistol with the 550, but I've reloaded 7mm Rem Mag with a Hornady single stage and there are no problems.

Keter sells that table with two styles of clamps; the other style you're probably seeing is more common. I don't even use them anymore. The 1.5" thick top is generally heavy enough not to need them.

Where did you get the clamps to mount the top to the keter?
@BigZhukov
@BigZhukov 4 жыл бұрын
They came with that model. I know some Keter tables have a different clamping mechanism - I'm sure you could improvise something. With the double-layer playwood top, it's heavy enough that I rarely if ever bother with the clamps.

You think I could do the same with a Dillon 650 progressive press?
@BigZhukov
@BigZhukov 9 жыл бұрын
MrZola1234 Don't see why it wouldn't. I haven't run my 550 on it yet, but if there's a problem it would be during the resizing stroke. I've done full-length resizing of .308 on my Hornady single stage without anything tilting/moving so the 650 should work also.

This is awesome. I want to do the exact same thing because space is a issue, especially living in a two bedroom apartment. I have a couple of questions: 1. Did the wood stand up to the Press? Some of my mates have had issues where the wood split on their table after a little while. 2. What type of wood did you use? I am thinking of using hardwood. Name says it all. 3. What are the two vices you are using to attach the wood to the Keter bench? Thank you!
@BigZhukov
@BigZhukov 8 жыл бұрын
1) In my case: no problem. Wodd splitting is generally not an issue with plywood. 2) Decent grade plywood, 3/4". No need for solid hardwood. 3) The vises that came with it.
