Thanks for the tip about the headset! I have two of the AKG HSC 271 and I love them, and now that I need a third headset, I've of course considered one of those - but that third headset doesn't have to be the same brand, so if that one is 2/3 of the price of the AKG and still good, I'll probably go for that!

Nice rig! We're running a very similar setup for local sporting events with vMix, Asus TUF F17, Central Control, Ubiquiti gear, Sony NX5r manned cams, and CRN-300 PTZ (also replacing BD P200 cams). We do not, however, have anything as awesome as that Pepwave! And we're currently trying to get most gear mounted in cases so we can stop spending so much time with cabling and power. Lots of good ideas in your video. Thank you!

Hi, what do you like about the Canon CRN-300 PTZ over the BD P200?

Nice Rig, I'm running a very similar rig, you've got some nice custom bit there, I've been streaming for over 15 years with plenty Gov work in Canberra. Based in WA now and doing mostly remote production work..having said that I currently just finished a 2 week long gig in Syd..which is nice!

Hey Simon, I really enjoy your videos. Question for you if you don’t mind, do you use any sort sync to match set SRT feeds? Say with NTP, timecode, SRT mini server? Do you ever run into trouble with lip sync and multiple SRT feeds? Thanks so much!
@StreamoutAU
@StreamoutAU 8 ай бұрын
Hi Bryan. Glad you enjoy them. No sync is never an issue and I do not externally sync them. I keep the audio in sync by bringing it in through one of the cameras. It gets embedded at the camera so it stays sync in the through the rest of the chain. Sync and latency is an interesting topic. That might be my next video.

Hey quick question, just wondering which exact power conditioner you have in your rack? Been looking for something similar with AU/NZ style outlets.

Does the hyperdeck mini need to have an SD card in it for a signal to be detected? Have you had any issues with it?

Great setup! How do you manage wan and 5g priority into the peplink? Do you put everything in priority 1 or just wan in 1 and 5g in priority 2 as hot fail over?
@StreamoutAU
@StreamoutAU 8 ай бұрын
Hi there. It depends. If I have a good hardwired internet, it will be priority 1, and the 5G's will be 2. However, more and more I find there is no hardwired internet available for me to use, so I'm forced to use 5G, in which case they are all priority 1.

Nice video Simon. We are here in California and are a VMix based live streaming company and looking at your setup, you have some nice ideas, a well thought our equipment strategy. I've been on the fence with the Canon CR-N300s, I know the 1" sensor in the 500 is better but do you find your clients are ok with the small sensor look from the 300s? They must not be too great in available light, in comparison? We are contemplating buying FX6s as well for higher end work and production work (I'm a DOP) but live streaming has been relatively slow after the Pandemic so we aren't sure. It seems like we've done more projects this year with our PTZs that previously and obviously AI is marching toward PTZ cameras ran by or at least assisted by AI so it's a very strange time to be buying cameras. Sonys new PTZ is advertised as already powered by AI Analytics for tracking, focus and being able to program shot sequences. I like having camera ops and better cameras but the budgets have to support that and often we find that the only way to get certain clients work done is with PTZs.

Thanks for your comments Dan. When using PTZs, my rig is optimised for me to run solo and usually hitting a budget is the primary goal. The 300s are small and their performance is acceptable in those low budget scenarios. I have never had a client comment on the image quality out of these and the auto tracking update is supposedly being released next month. Where budget allows for better quality images, I have access to guys who have FX6’s and 9’s. I feel the hardware is only half the equation. There is value in hiring the skilled owner/operators as they know much better than me on how the get the best pictures from their camera gear.

@@StreamoutAU Totally agree. Unlike most live stream companies, we do some pretty elaborate lighting setups, when possible, and I have a feeling with some good lighting, the CR-N300s would look acceptable for a lot of clients. The CR-N500s, obviously cleaner and better looking, and then beyond that, the FX6 and FX9 obviously look amazing even with available light if the available light is decent. But we all know that a good portion of live streams, especially on the lower budget side, may not want to pay for good lighting, have the time to let you light their setup well and often, with hybrid events, the best we're going to do a Leko or two from 30-50' away which is never going to look good. Thanks for your input, keep making these, it's great to see what other live streamers are up to in other parts of the world.

@@danbrockettDOP I have a couple of the CR-N300's, and as @streamoutAUS says, they are acceptable. They're obviously not professional broadcast level good, and I've had them struggle quite a bit in low light conditions, which has made me glance more than once at the CR-N500 - but since that's twice as expensive (and not twice as good), it hasn't been too tempting so far. The CR-N300's are good enough, so I'm keeping them, and we'll see in the future...

@@Volleykanalen Thanks for your experience. Live streaming for us has been really quiet so we won't be upgrading anything until projects pick up again.
