A big thing in the community was all the theories. This was a time where there was still hope for Half Life 3. There's the whole Bring Your Daughter To Work Day Incident. Chell was one of the employees daughters and all the kids brought science projects in. You can see Chells name on the back of one and her project was with potatoes. In the depths of Aperture, there's that large cargo ship. The Borealis. Which is the same ship from the leaked Half Life 2 footage where they had like water monsters. It was completely scrapped because of the leak so it was super interesting when it showed up and people theorized about if portal technology can transport it. Nolan North also voices a couple of the cores and the turrets which everyone loved because he was huge then. There was a bunch of other little stuff like that that you don't really see with today's games. Almost like ...when I see people play Alan Wake 2 and they haven't played the other ones, they are like..."I don't get it. What's the big deal?" And then it's like welllll if you know this thing from this game and how this interlopes with this outside the games then you'll appreciate it more and craft different leveled tiered theories.

Oh yeah, also there's all the ratman stuff. In different areas if you stand still in a corner or something, you can hear Ratman making noises through the walls. There was also like Morse code I think if you grab a radio and bring it to a certain location which was a whole arg thing.

This game is one of those titles that kinda doesn't have any flaws. It's as well rounded as it needs to be. Single Player puzzles are toned down enough to be relatively thought provoking so the pacing of the jokes hits well often. Now that Co-op mode is outstanding. I remember playing this in high school and my friend David solved every single puzzle while I jerked around...only to meet the final vault/gate having him completely stumped until my random dancing opened it. Comedic gold. This IP really ended on a high note if we never get an evolution.

You guys should play coop, I've played it a few times years apart when I forget the solutions, it's super fun figuring out the puzzles because they always require two people to actually cooperate. There is also ample opportunity to anti-cooperate lok
