Portal 2| Wheatley in Real Life part 3: The DIY Aperture Science Personality Core.
Want to buy me a coffee? Your tips support more videos like this: ko-fi.com/mrvolt
Support the channel and bigger builds: / mr_volt
Alright alright, let's get down to building Wheatley IRL ok? Personality Cores, Spheres, etc, are essential robotic stewards of Aperture Labs in Portal and Portal 2 and are required to modify GLaDOS's unruly behavior. I've already built a prototype of her head, so cores are the logical next step! They're plausible mechanically, but I will have to make some compromises so that things aren't floating and clipping through each other. This is the second video where I explain the elements of his inner eye and his eyelids.
Check out the Craftbot FLOW IDEX XL here: craftbot.com/products/craftbo...

Subscribe to stay up to date on the latest Core progress, but if you don't, I'll give GLaDOS your IP address :)

I love how this is like a prototype Wheatley that’s based in the realms of reality. I think the excuse for Wheatley having impossible things in him like his eyelids disappearing and such can be chocked up to Aperture being crazily advanced.

I think one of the reasons he’s shaking around a lot is because of where he’s mounted In the games he’s either on a rail with the mounting point being on the very top or the whole back of him is fixed to the glados body Still overall loving the build and the best of luck with the project going forward

That's really fascinating! I didn't know about a Stewart Platform! I'd always assumed the "poles" (what I've seen them called in the community before) would be impossible. These videos hit the perfect spot between high budget and low budget for me. Not quite Logan Paul (Thank god) and not quite a crappy vlog made by a seven year old. Too high a budget can easily make a KZbinr feel artificial but this feels completely human. All the little mistakes in speech or the part where he tries to explain how the frame goes together while holding the camera just makes it feel a lot more KZbin. This doesn't feel like a tv show and thats a good thing. Fine job, my man.
