Look, I've played through Portal a LOT and even I can't understand what Rin is doing most of the time here, If think it's proof that our Prince is so smart that you can't just follow what's going on in her mind if you're not a genius. It's the only explanation, right ?

Did you know that Valve thought "Hoopy the Hoop" - the falling hoop in the ending cutscene - would become a big meme? Obviously, the fanbase said "No. Cake is meme." I bring this up because Rin having no investment in the Companion Cube but then getting deeply emotionally attached to a random spanner is pretty much a 1-to-1 recreation of that phenomenon.

I’ve never seen a vtuber stream, and didn’t even know that the word “vtuber” existed until recently. I just really liked the movement of the character models when I got recommended a short, so I watched the rest of said short. I stumbled across a short that announced Rin was playing Portal, and like the Portal enthusiast I am, (literally obsessed…) I immediately searched for Rin Penrose Portal. I have no regrets.

I'd like to showcase how quickly Rin figured out the... this one (15:53) once she realized what the puzzle even was. 15:55- door opens in reaction to button being pressed. Unfortunately, to complete the puzzle, the Rin needs to pass through the door. This cannot happen if button under Rin keeps door open. 15:57- the Rin swivels to the solution- a second cube. Unfortunately, it is on an elevated platform and is thus inaccessible to the Rin. However, the Rin has a portal gun which allows Rin to move between the blue and red (orange) portals. Rin places a blue portal, and only needs to figure out where the red portal is. 16:00- red portal identified. Unfortunately, red portal is also inaccessible. 16:02- confirming, red portal is inaccessible. Cogs turning... 16:03- place blue portal in an accessible place, and become red portal Rin. "Check this shit out." Blue portal, while Rin is red portal, is replaced where the remaining cube is. Rin becomes blue portal. Rin has cube. Cube to button, Rin to door, puzzle to solve.
