What you are listening to is unique and pioneering in exteme metal, after giving up with over produced technical death metal for 2 years now, this has rekindled my faith that there are people out there who REALLy push the boundries. Awsome

I've had the album since 13th of september. i met there guitarist at cannibal corpse in brisbane and hung with him and he gave me Outre as a gift. it is downright scary, as though it is slowly killing you.

@associate39 The few hours i spent with their rthym guitarist were undoubtably the creepiest i've ever spent in anyones company, but his eight string was the most awesome specimen i've ever seen. Pure beast of darkness.

I haven't heard any music in a long time that sounded so out of this world (sorry for my lack of a better metaphor). It's actually a little frightening but the song swarth definitely sounds more chaotic and bewildering to me.

@Metalheadyup Well they certainly SOUND blacker than many black metal bands. :D With Portal, it seems that Death metal and Black metal have become enmeshed as a result of some head-on collision. Out of the twisted wreckage has emerged the mutilated, psychologically scarred remains of an as yet undefined species of metal, transcending all others. Or not!!! They have grown on me since my initial post, but I like 'Black Houses' better.
