21:23 psychologically speaking, the companion cube is an amazing idea. Because the players have been isolated for so long hearing only a robotic voice, just having a cube with a heart symbol on it and calling it a “companion” gives such emotional attachment to it. With the little art of the stick figure hugging it primes the players to think of the cube as cute and something to protect as it helps you solve puzzles. If I remember correctly it even gently plays music when you crouch near it. Valve used our human need for accompaniment and companionship to then stab us in the back later the same level

Through some math and using your own grading shown in this video, I have actually determined what Kelski's final IQ score was in the game. According to some changes depending on whether we count the escape sequences as test chambers, he either ended the game with 21, 14, or 5 IQ. Which are fitting for a woman who defeated a supercomputer and thought jumping was equivalent to saying apple. People with brain damage are truly the real heroes in the end.

The turrets do actually have feelings. They are sentient and have emotions. They can also feel pain so when they scream ow they are actually in pain. Also the Companion Cube is alive too and it can also feel pain but its usually happy from my understanding. I love the gaslighting GLaDOS does the entire game because its often super funny. And a little lore fact. GLaDOS was powered on about 1 week before the Black Mesa incident. She put Aperture on lockdown immediately and then proceeded to pump neurotoxin into the entire facility. The Combine have tried breaking in but Aperture is so dangerous that they just leave it alone out of fear.

I really like the terraria companion cube “Easter egg”. There’s a rare chance a travelling merchant will have it. For even mid game it costs a lot. But the best thing is that it’s a non-combat pet that can follow you. However, if your lights go out and you appear in pitch-black darkness the cube will “stab” you in the back for 1hp. Also if it falls into lava, it won’t be destroyed but it exudes the most terrifying sounds of something actually dying from lava.

I have a feeling that you would love to look at Portal speedrunning. You would be amazed at how creative the solutions can be, both in the amount of glitches, and how they are used, but also in how many levels can be cheesed. It is also a lot of fun to speedrun. I strongly believe that Portal is the best speedrunning game out there.

Portal will forever be my favorite game. Portal 2 was the first pc game i ever played when i was like 8 or 9 years old back in 2014, and I will always have valve to thank for the hours upon hours of fun.
