I waste a huge amount of time to figure out where the heads and intake lose efficiency. It is poorly done and should be watched by nobody. Thanks!

Thanks for taking us on another adventure. And you are the best Guide! Nobody puts this much work into it. Sometime a video on header anti reversion mods? I watched DV'S video it was interesting.

I saw his video. I like anti reversion for street stuff with a too big a cam....def my style..thanks

I’m glad to see that cylinder head companies are still making heads with near stock intake runner volume and improving on that. Those 165 Darts that you did there out flow many heads with 200 cc or larger runner volume. I’m very impressed with your take on these! 👍🏻

I have a video where I flow a stock Dart 215 and these beat it! Thanks

Charlie, You are better of using CFM/IN2 at the pinch,throat and valve area's. And a hint - they are not all calculated at 146 in2. Also i dynoed my last 383 sbc changing 1.6" exhaust valve to a 1.5" which ended up at 92% throat. I have not done a back to back but will track test soon. Bigger exhaust throat is rpm dependent, throat area goes up,CFM goes down but power goes up if rpm is increased but the whole engine combination has to follow the trend. In my 383 i believe the exhaust valve change will make zero difference. On the dyno it made 1.35 ft/ lbs per cube and 585hp @ 6800rpm. 11.25 comp on pumpgas.

You should tell us you did this with the same heads as this. Explain how they all not calculated at 146. Thanks

I ran a 383 combination a few years ago with the same heads,1.94" - 1.5" valves. 11.65 compression 240 - 256 @ 050" Comp roller. Ported 300-25. 950 hp carb. Using MS 109 fuel 522 ft/ lbs @ 5300rpm 570hp @ 6600rpm. Ran 10.62 @ 126mph in my 3620 lb streeter Radials and mufflers. On my bench intake on flowed 262cfm @ 28" 305 cfm @ 45" At max piston speed a 383 requires 304cfm @ 7000rpm. Exhaust flowed 230cfm @ 28" 265 cfm @ 45" With a 6" pipe. I don't care to much about cfm on the exhaust as I look at throat/ flange area depending on rpm. I am a believer in if the CSA and shape are close the CFM will be there. Charlie, no criticism intended just want to share another way of doing things.

A shortcut to find the area of the radii is 0.858*R^2 Is the 2.39 sq.in just the throat, or does that take into account the valve stem? If not, then the actual area is 2.30 sq.in, and the actual efficiency is 80.4%. That's excellent for a low port head.
@servediocylinderheads10 күн бұрын
I did forget the valve stem. Good point. I always do that!
