"if you could only see yourself like me" Russian Roulette: "Maybe this time I won't be alright." as he proceeds to sing about the things he loved. He was gonna kill himself, but he stopped because of his wife, his mom, his cat, etc.. really powerful. He couldn't accept the fact that time could've been the time where he did not survive (as he had survived previous attempts). He mentions the guy who jumped off the golden gate bridge. How that guy felt like all his life he could stop something, but as he fell through the air, he had met that one thing he could do nothing about. Porter didnt wanna experience that again. (ok now im crying) Knock yourself out goes into why we, his fans, kept him going. Just wanted one more song from him. He couldn't let us down. Year of the cup goes more into depth about how he felt trying to juggle this cup of his emotions around whilst keeping himself afloat. That's why they are talking about what's in the cup, (his emotions) because that's what smile is about. Recognize what's wrong, and find peace with it if you can't change it. Cause its his cup. He can have whatever is in the cup because its his. Noone can tell him whats in his cup. We get an idea of how hard this was for Porter in "Is there really no happiness" where he says "I've been trying to change but I don't know how to change you." talking to his past self, who he can't change. He's got too many bad memories that he wants to rid, however his past locks him in. He has trouble accepting this, but the lyrics do make up for it. Cheerleader is a song where he admits that he needs the fans more than they need him and maybe more than he once thought he did. Everything to me is also to us, but to himself too. Kitsune is a bit of an odd ball, however its still beautiful. It's about how clothing, can make you feel good on a short scale, but wont ever substitute human connection, and therefore, leaving weird designer clothing at his song release party to show his fans that nothing will substitute the connection he feels performing in front of those he loves so much. Perfect Pinterest Garden is about how insecure he feels with being around his fans. Porter is on edge when out in public because of his struggles with fame and fan interactions. The word “dramatic” implies that he feels that some (or a lot of it) is his fault. This in turn affects his loved ones as the sometimes can’t enjoy regular things with him. The song talks about his struggles with that, yet that his fans still were there to push him through, as he sings on repeat in the chorus "Somebody's gotta say the things I’m trying not to say". I do not wanna tell you about Mona Lisa. I think you should either find out on your own, or read up on it. It'll give you chills.
