This song and the Wild Rift Star Guardian event happened the day before my mom first got diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and she passed away last night. My dad just passed away unexpectedly two days ago at night after our family having fun in a beach.. It was all great until he suddenly have trouble breathing at night while getting ready to bed and passed away on the way to the hospital. Now the lyrics "I wanna take you to the sea. And when I'm better we'll do everything. I gotta stop making promises I can't keep." hit very hard..
@sjatar_2 жыл бұрын
Man crossing over "Suffering" at 2:40 is such a small but strong imagery. I never realized that "you weren't anymore" could also mean "you weren't suffering anymore". The small changes to lyrics you see really gives another dimension to the song and the emotions it is trying to convey.
@Aetheric2 жыл бұрын
Porter did a stems breakdown on this and a little bit into his vocals he's talking about earlier on in the song he was imaging being in a hospital when writing the 43s to 1min ish part of the vocals and that just doubly hits home with what you brought up because it's like they passed. 0:43 - 1:03

"cause when we're gone, everything goes on" I just can't imagine dying and one day everyone would forget about you.. The World would move forward without you.
@trumediamix16 ай бұрын
No one is ever truly forgotten in death. Life itself is meant to be concluded in death, and it has many unforeseeable possibilities for it to end. Without death, life can't sustain itself. The dead don't want us to stop for them, but we take our time to bury them or burn them simply because we cared enough about them in life to make their deaths mean something to us before we work to move on. I remember how hard it was to get over my "Grandma Peg's" death, in fact... it fucking sucked because I knew her since I was little and loved her a damn lot. Seeing her on a medical bed in her own home after having fallen down the stairs..? Ate me up for weeks... She died on 1.16.2024... I still have a card with her face and DoB/DoD to help me remember her, I fully admit.

I feel that this song beautifully conveys the fear and sadness of parting with a loved one that we all inevitably face, while also reminding us how truly grateful we should be for the moments we can spend together, using an artistic approach that only he can master. When I was in college, I lost a girlfriend I dearly loved. Now, thanks to this song, I can genuinely look back on our time together with heartfelt gratitude and cherish the good memories we shared. Thank you, Porter, for always moving us with your music. From afar in Japan, I sincerely pray for even greater happiness and success to come your way.

"We'll do the grieving while I'm by your side" is a line that really hit me. My brother has been in and out of the hospital these last couple of weeks in pretty serious condition. In other words I didn't know if he was going to die and tbh I still don't know. I have more faith now than I did but things are pretty bad still. So that said, I have been going through the grieving process while he is still "by my side". This song though is helping me with that grief. While I'll be heart broken if he does pass this song reminds me that life will continue on. *Edit: my brother is out of the hospital and well. 🙂 Honestly this song amongst other things have really helped me turn things around and life is going pretty fantastic at the moment. *

[Lyrics] Don't try to make yourself remember, darling Don't look for me, I'm just a story you've been told So let's pretend a little longer 'Cause when we're gone Everything goes on Well, you were staring at the window And I said, "I wanna take you to the sea" And when I'm better, we'll do everything I gotta stop making promises I can't keep But if I was gone tomorrow, won't the waves crash on? Is it selfish that I'm happy as we pass the setting sun? Someday I'll be overcast, but you won't have to cry 'Cause we'll do the grieving while I'm by your side I said Don't try to make yourself remember, darling Don't look for me, I'm just a story you've been told So let's pretend a little longer 'Cause when we're gone Everything goes on And I'm so scared of getting used to this All the vines that keep you tethered in your room Someday both of us are leaving here But for now, I'll just bring to the sea to you, ooh When you meet me in the daylight like we did before Then I felt you on my shoulder, and you weren't suffering anymore You said, "I'm sorry that you worry, but don't apologize" I told you to forget me, but you stayed by my side When I said Don't try to make yourself remember, darling Don't look for me, I'm just a story you've been told So let's pretend a little longer And when we're gone, ah Everything goes on

Finally! The official full version here in KZbin! Thanks for all of your wonderful music Porter! 😄 I don't even play League of Legends but this music along with Star Guardian's promo video got me hooked with its lore! ❤

Oh. Oh wow. I'm glad I waited on watching this until now. I was rushing around yesterday and couldn't sit down to properly watch. This morning I was stressed from unexpected life stuff. This somehow feels like opening a room and getting fresh air in me. Gets my heart beating right, if that makes sense. Never stop being genuine, Porter. Your heart reaches ours.

I knew you from some songs I played on Osu a long time ago, but never gave your songs that much attention, probably because I'm more of listening to other genres that make me feel adrenaline or powerful. But now this one song of yours touched my heart like no other and I feel like sad and nostalgic since my life is like I just run and run without thinking about the past because I have enough time with all the problems and stuff. That's why I usually listen to other type of music that make feel powerful in order to continue. But now that I finally have some time to think about my steps and how I got where I am... it's too much to process and this song just made me let it all out while I think about everything that's been going this recent years... That's why I wanted to say thank you for this beautiful song, it really helped me a lot...

After Shelter, this is another sample of pure talent on his part, since you feel the feeling that Porter had when creating this song, and precisely all that is summarized here, thanks for create such beautiful songs

@@AnkellSounds idk, I still think that Flicker, Sea of Voices, Goodbye to a World, Wind Tempos, Dullscythe (yea, imo at least, love this song) and Unfold are better than Shelter! Don't get me wrong though, Shelter still rocks but I just feel like it overshadows lots of other Porter's works

I genuinely believe this is one of the greatest songs ever written. From the lyrics, to the instrumentels, to the vocals, to the VIBES. This songs vibes are unbelievable, and I haven't stopped listening to it since I first heard it. I don't care what anyone says. "It's not a big name artist," "It's for League of Legends," "It's not popular on the radio," whatever people want to say about it. I will forever firmly believe in my heart that this is one of the greatest pieces of music ever made.
