Im 24 now and these songs still hit an itch somewhere in my brain that no other edm artist has ever been able to. This guy is such an underrated diamond. @@b-louprint I think your thinking of something else maybe? An augmented 6th interval would be to raise the 6th a half step. I’m not familiar with the term predominant but I think we’re saying pretty much the same thing. In jazz theory they’d call it a tritone sub. Although you could make an argument for it just being parallel movement. That being said it’s still relatively advanced harmony for the time and genre. I just thought it was cool that good songwriting wins regardless of genre. :)
