Seeing this live was such an incredible experience. I'm so grateful to be able to listen to it over and over again. Sending love!

i've listened to a lot of iterations of this concerto, but it never really hit me, that so many of mozarts composition are so much about just the essence of life, of being alive, and being joyful in that idea. this was an absolutely beautiful performance

Crisp clear tonality and great breath control Amy. Also the dress and walk were great too.

This is one of the most majestic interpretations I've heard of this piece. Her point gets across incredibly well.

Perfect tone, perfect articulation, perfect vibrato... Full of musicality. What a pleasure to listen, Amy! Your playing is absolutely fantastic. To my ear, there's something to improve in the intonation on the side of the orchestra. Maybe the brass?

i have a quick question, being a flute player myself who wants to perform like this. why does Amy Porter have to memorize her music and the string and brass instruments in the chairs do not ? they seem to be reading off of music.
@alexdeconteliar35874 жыл бұрын
She didn't have to have it memorized but usually in a concert, the soloist memorizes the piece. The other players didn't because they were the orchestra and not soloists
@tomgreene22824 жыл бұрын
At this stage she is probably familiar with it for over 30 years....and may have a great musical memory.
@Giulia-dc7ml3 жыл бұрын
Well the guys in the chairs are the orchestra they always read the music

Great great performance, although I think there is still some room for growth... take a look at Emmanuel Pahud's rendition.

+Smood47 I agree that Pahud's interpretation is excellent, but my personal favorite is Peter-Lukas Graf's.

+porterflute That is the attitude of a upcoming master. What flute are you using here?

+Smood47 So funny! You must be older than me then! At my age of 51 I feel I can still master my instrument. I'm even improving thankfully! That flute is a 14K rose gold made for me by Mr. Aoki in 1999. I sold it to a student in 2014. And the orchestra is made up of scientists and doctors who love performing in their Life Sciences Orchestra. Great people. - AP
