The best thing that makes Musician such a cool track, is its about becoming a musician, or the things a starter musician would do to begin their journey. Most EDM musicians start by using samples that were already made and edit them. This sample The "Woo Yeah" in the second verse comes from an older classic rap song And the metronome at the beggining, because let's face it, timing is hard to master when you're a beginner. Not just that but lyrically, it talks about how hard it is to be a proper musician, but also how beautiful it is once you get somewhere with it. Great track with great meaning.

This is my first time seeing how he crafts his music and the way he can make random samples sound so vibrant. Dude I thought the same! Especially in Wind Tempos, reminds me alot of With You Friends
@bellum1283 жыл бұрын
@@skrillex9090againAJ Man I could discuss With You Friends for days. I've been trying to decipher where those vocal chops came from for years. Likely the "All my love"/reversed version of that sample came from a mysterious rendition of All I Ask of You by Sonny himself, but the other syllables don't match up to any part of the song from what I can tell, meaning there must be some other content that it came from. One possibility I've found is the track Mora, which has a very similar tonality, and parts may have been pitched shifted and chopped from that. Several syllables and words like the drawn out "You" match up almost perfectly with Mora, as well "on your knees" which may match up with the syllables from With You Friends that at first glance sound like "graaa- on your knees"........oh what I would give to have an animation breakdown like this video for each sample in With You Friends.

One particular detail I really like about “musician”’s remixed samples is the second to last sample literally holding the word “imagine”, which further emphasizes the song’s meaning. While the rest are cuts of words, this word stays relatively intact when pitched and you can hear it in the actual song. Idk I just think it adds even more personality to the final piece that you can hear “imagine” pop up with the rest of the lyrics
