i'm really glad this one got a music video, it's apparently the album underdog but it's the most vocal-forward song on the album and, to me, the most vulnerable one. even though it's not ENTIRELY about alcohol abuse, i personally read it like that, specifically all the embarrassing things you do when you're relying on alcohol to compensate for your anxiety in social situations, and how even if you think you're having a great time it can go downhill so fast. that moment you go a little overboard and then the emotional outburst that can ruin entire relationships or make you feel like an absolute idiot in front of a crowd or in front of your friends. hearing this song for the first time kind of made me confront all the times i had done that and made me go, oh, i can't keep doing this to myself. so it's nice that it's getting the recognition it deserves from porter himself and i hope it grows on everyone else too

@thinecyber_cat (this is the same comment copied and pasted from another reply I made, but I think it perfectly communicates my thought process) for me, it ruins the flow of the song 🤷♂️. It's also a bit heavy-handed as the lyrics communicate the meaning perfectly fine. If it was just a short snippet at the end of the song, it wouldn't bother me, but it's nearly a minute and a half spread at 3 points throughout. I won't ever disagree that it's good artistically, I see what it's going for and I respect it. It just hinders the listening experience for this song, ESPECIALLY on multiple listens
@TOMMYx95x3 ай бұрын
