here's my AU of the engines. Thomas in 1913, Sir Nigel Gresley of the GNR built a class of 0-6-0 tank engine that will be known as the J23(J50). Thomas was among the engines built during 1926. he was moved to the former North Middlesbrough Railway (I changed the name, so that it would make sense being on the other side of Britain) to work as the main shunter there. he would complain endlessly about how his class was built to pull trains along the West Riding. 30 likes for Edward

Welp, I've been inspired to finish my AU, starting with writing down Thomas's whole existence, starting in 1917 on the LBSCR, and currently extending to 1946. Anyway, imma waffle on built in 1917, he was a shortened one-off of the E-2 class on a 12' wheelbase rather than 16'. He would be stationed at Littlehampton for 5 years, mostly going unused by crews thanks to their disdain for the E2 class. In December of 1925, LBSCR 110 would be purchased by the NWR at a cheap price, 110 was sent to the Crovan's Gate restoration. He'd work for 3 months in the works, helping to maintain the railway's engines. While at the works, 110 would grow fond of the aging NWR 2, Edward. In late March of 1926, 110 would be removed from the works to run mainline freight duties from Vicarstown to Killdane due to a labor strike from both crews and the three tender engines of the railway. 110 would often bring engine parts from the scrapyard at Killdane to Crovan's Gate Works, as they were attempting to build a new engine to assist 110 and Edward. This engine would be revealed in April as a new hodgepodge 0-4-0 saddle tank (see Percy) the strike came to an end in March, and normal services resumed. 110 was sent to Crovan's Gate where he was repainted from his SR livery to NWR blue, at his request. He was renumbered 1, as the standing number one has recently gone missing. #1 would work as a pilot at Vicarstown, organizing the yard, and toying with Gordon, the NWR #4. In 1941, Germany would send stuka dive bombers to destroy Knapford Docks, as it was being used as a naval base for the royal navy. 3 ships were damaged, the yard was eviscerated. NWR #1 was caught in the destruction, with a bomb landing behind the engine, Killing the driver instantly, and fatally wounding the fireman, who would die of his wounds before he made it to the hospital. #1's can was almost entirely torn off in the blast. #1 would emerge from Crovan's Gate Works one month later, now sporting a flat running board at the back, and a widened cab. In 1945, #1 would officially be named "Thomas" after the recently deceased Thomas W. Perkins, his former driver, and began working the recently reopened Ffarquhar branch line that extends to a limestone quarry with a pair of coaches named Annie and Clarabel, running push-pull services to and from Ffarquhar. Later in 1946, Thomas would be auto-fitted, and Clarabel would receive a driver's cab from which the driver could control Thomas at the other end of the train. TL;DR: he 11th one-off E2, he work hard, get cab blown off, quick rebuild, names after dead driver Still too long? Suck it.

Nice! Though I have a few questions… 1: is Bruno in the porterverse? 2: will you make a NWR 27 model? 3: are there any electric engines on the peel godred branch line in the porterverse?

1. I do plan on adding Bruno in some capacity, but that still needs time to be fully fleshed-out 2. Eventually yes 3. there aren’t any electrics on the branch, BUT there was actually a class of house-built 6-6-0 engines built for “Killdane Transport” which was a NWR subsidiary established in 1924 to serve the line, as Killdane was made the capital of Sodor a few years prior, and the branchline was increasing in demand at the time :)

usually i use 91% as it removes paint easier, 70% also works too :)

the BCRR’s No. 1 during the 20th century was Ten Cents, the original No. 1 was an old 4-4-0 that was around during the 1880’s when the BCRR first opened hopefully i can build both in model form some day lol :)
