as my doctor told me some 35+ years ago, you got osteoarthritis for life, (BUT) you can keep the pain at bay, by WALKING, and she was right, bless her...

Great stuff Marcus. I took the lane to Groes Farm in the opposite direction on my circular between Dunraven Bay and St. Bride’s in September - the most blackberries I’d ever seen in one place!

Cheers, a nice sunny day too.

Always wanted to do that walk however the river has always been too high when I am back home visiting Porthcawl. I like how quiet the walk was. Shame the Pelican was shut, a great place to have lunch before tackling the sand dunes!

Yep, a lot of places are closed on Mondays. Away from the beaches, it's never that busy.

A very pleasant, not too long a walk that one, I'll give it a go in the coming weeks.

Hello from a former child of Nantymoel whose lived in Oxford for many years. I really enjoy your walks, which bring back many happy memories. There used to be a water treatment plant a little further upstream on the River Ogmore. Is this still operational and, if so, why is the quality of the river water flowing into the estuary so poor?
@marcuswalks6 ай бұрын
The treatment plant is still there, I wouldn't advise swimming in the area. The water quality isn't good at the moment.

What is the source of pollution for the Ogmore river?
@marcuswalks6 ай бұрын
The main one is Welsh Water releasing sewage into the river.
