Lovely - the branch terminus reminds me very much of St Ives. And that fabulous Brunel viaduct.......

Watched this for the 3rd or 4th time, it gets better. Every time you see something different. Probably the best large(ish) ‘big four’ layout I’ve seen, not often I’m spellbound by steam but this is a marvel and the operation is spot on 👍👍👍👋

Just seen this layout for the first time and I am very impressed with it! The detail is excellent (although some of the buildings could do with a bit of weathering) and there's always something new to see each time one views it. Great job, my friend, and I have subscribed as I want to see more of this lovely layout. Best regards, Eric.

In just made the video, not the layout. It was built by master modeller Gavin Thrum. You can see his work at thrumlington.blogspot.com/

Barry, the builder of the layout was Gavin Thrum. I just made the video and a few of the houses. The layout is located in Coromandel Valley, South Australia. I will forward your comment to Gavin who has a web site you should check out at thrumlington.blogspot.com/

Quality.!!!! Just one little point of note, please can we have a loco crew in open cabs, looks like they are radio controlled....
@JohnDavies-cn3ro2 жыл бұрын
We all do it! The trouble is, Churchward and Dean cabs, the absence of a crew is painfully noticable.

A really great layout - love it. My only criticism would be the racket from a lot of really noisey switches...!

I think those long bogey coaches on the back of the city class loco are the most beautiful coaches I have ever seen with their lovely livery with the gold lining. Absolutely gorgeous. Where can I buy some of those now??? I would really like to know.

I am fairly sure that Gavin scratch built them. To check take a look at his blog at thrumlington.blogspot.com/

Kevin. Gavin's reply is "The coaches Kevin is talking about are the old PC Models coach kits, the ones that had screen printed vinyl sides. "

@@moonraker44 I thought they were - you'll have to look at second hand sales now, I'm afraid. I was playing a lovely game of identifying the various firms products among the rolling stock.

Great video Pete! Well done! Gav sure has done a brilliant job with layout. I enjoyed meeting you and other blokes at the convention in October. I particularly like your G scale Clayton Bay layout that was pretty nice. I've got a video on Clayton Bay on my channel if you want to check it out. I've subbed too.

No it didn't, zardpz 2. The starter held at danger applied to the loop; the main line board which applied to 'City of Bath's' train was behind it next to the line it applies to, and was 'off'. Trick of perspective.

The random steam sounds they have playing ruin it. Id rather listen to the noise of the models myself. Gorgeous looking layout though

I just turned the sound off. I gather that the layout is based on the reality of the Carbis Bay area. Very nice layout!
@tonderen16156 жыл бұрын
Indeed a lovely layout. However during the times you have been presenting here so great there were not that many colors all around, it used to be a dark-grey society as far as cities used to look. Therefore I think the houses you have been depicting espcially in the start of this video really look to shiny and thus do not credit to the general appearance.
