There's one more tip to fuck over Higgins... . Once you've selected your desired commission, you can still "browse" the others, opening them and looking them over, though you can't accept any of them. Open the one with the MOST Rep points on the board, and keep it open until Higgins picks one of the remaining jobs. He can't pick whichever one you've got open at the time, even if you've already taken one yourself. So you can screw him out of a lot of Rep points doing this. Especially if you get a really good commission and can block another good one while the rest are kinda trash.

The Dee Dee mission now triggers after the quest “The cave on Amber Island”. If you still want to get the achievement make sure you finish this mission on a Friday so Saturday you can get the missions to build the dee dees with out Higgins grabbing them.

I did all this by accident on my first save. I'm so proud. It was actually on Saturday, because on Sunday the missions were available. I realized I needed 5 deedees, but I had material lying around because I was too busy giving gifts to try and sell my stuff.

Yeah the timing of the days can be a bit difficult to get used to as well as all the stuff they give you to do, but a couple seasons in and it'll be second nature to you! Have fun!

@Nick Woodworth oh yeah it's definitely a big contender in the life sim category for me, it seems that Indie devs are crushing it in this genre nowadays and not spamming players with DLC for it, it's awesome!

Wood and stone can be exchanged for one another at the store inside A&G construction. Easy way to offload stone and get free wood.

Iron wood was also boggling for me, but the game speed thing, well game changing!! Nobody else mentioned this before! you can get Early Cash with Data Discs and buy Engines at Research Center and Planters at Temple and resell them Data Discs also sell for good Cash ..... Buy 10 Apple Trees ASAP because Aroma Apples are not only a Unlimited Source of Stamina later on (dried Apple Slices ) Aroma Apples are also loved by MANY NPCS and they sell for good Cash as well you can also get King Apples for the Harvest Competition

Picked it up on PS4 last week. Like Stardew Valley, I can't put this game down. I am a trophy hunter, so very grateful you mentioned completing that project prior to the bridge. I was getting ready to lay the bridge tonight when I got home. I would have hated to miss out and have to start over.

Will you be making any future video content about My time in Portia? I just saw your video after picking up the game on sale. I love the flow of your video and well since I'm so new, I dont have a clue what to do in the beginning. (or what to do during the day) There is so much to do, so many directions, its hard to commit to a daily routine. I think it would be neat to break down videos into parts. For example, friendships, fishing, calendar events ... ect. I hope you see this and consider uploading more videos!

A good way to make money is once you have access to the Collapsed Wasteland AND can make the level 2 fishing rod there is a fishing spot right below the sewage plant. It's near where you find Scraps. There are Catfish (pass), Bladefish (good for making Dried Bladefish) and Wisefish. Wisefish sell for a ton and if you have a level 2 rod you don't have to stop reeling as long as you keep the circle on the fish. If you do this you NEED the Fish Encyclopedia perk. That will show you what fish is biting on your line. Emperors appear often and VERY rarely you will find kings. Kings look like the usual fish in the identifier with a very slight color difference. For example the Catfish is red instead of orange. I made enough in 5 days to get my workbench maxed out, level 2 house, level 2 Assembly Station and 4 land expansions. I haven't even gone to get Ack yet.

Pro tip: never start the game and go instantly to the letterbox and claim all the DLC extra's. It will fill your inventory and you will have to restart the game... rofl.

Personally I like to take it slow and squeeze as much into each day as I can, so for max effort per day I go for slowest speed. However if you're wanting to get through the seasons quickly then that faster speed can definitely be useful

Heya Bomber! Feel free to destroy the stumps, they are some of the better early sources of hardwood and they'll still respawn, it takes around 3 or 4 days for them to spring back up iirc. And yeah that wheat was a lil tricky xD

Don't do the game speed thing. I did that on one of my early playthroughs, and it really screws up the game progression. Days become too long. And quests are pretty screwed. Play on default 100. Also, don't get this on console. I know it's a standard advice to always get PC version of there's a choice between all platforms. However, this was outsourced to a different dev for console port. And it's really different and screwed. Basically broken. And users have reported a hard time getting refund.

Well I have been playing this on Xbox (a year later lol) and they seemed to have fixed the bugs. I don't notice any significant issues and/or frame drops at all. There is a very rare instance of a delay when loading up the map to transport to the entrance of the mine. Nothing game breaking. It's free on the Xbox game pass and I'm enjoying the hell out of it so far!
