I go to a shorter shaft burr on chambers - helps me control work a little bit better..

Yes, I think a shorter burr would be better for control when doing combustion chambers. Next time I'll try a shorter bur.

Cool video. Whenever I ported and polished, I always polished the combustion chambers so as to not allow carbon buildup in the chamber itself. I would polish the exhaust ports, but not the intake ports. You want to keep the intake ports rough so as to not allow fuel droplets to form. Droplets form with slick surfaces. The gasket match is great on all ports and looks great. Once again, nice video.

Thanks, appreciate it. I didn't mention it in the video, but I did polish the exhaust ports and left a 60 grit finish on the intake ports, for the reasons you mention.

Diamond burs work great first then carbide. When you do your port match please post it

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to pick up a diamond bur to try it.

May want to get a shorter carbide diamond bur so you can reat your hand for stability....free handing like this is harder and easier to make errors

I think that you did pretty good. Slow and steady wins the race. I think the heads are nice. Have a good week. 👍

I am working on my first swap. Ls3/4L80 in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I am planning on doing about the same thing to my 821 heads. I don't think the 821 intake ports will open up as much as yours did. Those ports are caverns. You should be able to pick up a bunch. Tho it'll change the torque ramp. I've heard. Don't route me on that. I'm going to port them some.

Stock LS3 heads flow about what my ported heads flow. LS3 heads intake ports are larger/ taller than my ported Windsor SR heads and have 2.165 valves so they have a lot more potential than what my heads have. LS3 heads are about as good as it gets when it comes to a stock small block sized head. They should make a lot of power.

I think illllll leave them alone then lol. Thanx for the info.

dont remove to much material as you will lose compresion and have to cc the heads to keep chambers fairly equal.come back and finish with cartridge rolls for a good polish.

Thanks. I did measure the chambers after and they gained about 1 cc, but I was already planning to have them milled to up compression ...

Put a sparkplug in it and you head gasket so you know how far to deshroud them valves
