Hey @Paul The Tall I’m having an issue with the fallout 4 port. I followed the tutorial but when I click play and the launcher comes up the game either crashes immediately or launches a black screen that does not go away unless I force quit. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hey @Paul The Tall I’m having an issue with the fallout 4 port as well on my Intel MacBook Pro. It doesn't work, just a black screen. With the Test Launch I see some error coming from Vulkan-Metal (VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST). Spec: GPU Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB, 16 GB RAM.

Hi. I'm trying to fix the audio in this port. I can hear background noise, but no dialogue, music, or sound effects. How can i fix this? Thanks in advance

I can only start the game if I have disabled audio via "bEnableAudio=0" in the config. So obviously no game sound. The dialogue to NPCs is also broken. Are you aware of the audio problem @drpaulthetall? I see you mentioned about audio in a reply to a comment on this video. I tried overriding some audio files with Wine which is what you do with CrossOver, but no luck.

Yep, have the same issue with NPC voices and my own.

First off, thank you so much for doing all this! My issues with this are: It doesn’t launch anymore, usually when I try to change settings. if it works, then only in windows, but the mouse (after your fix) works better, but jumps out of the window and loses control ingame. if it runs, graphics and sounds are glitchy, but I can’t temper with the settings (I tried delete the .ini for reset it works sometimes but then I should not touch them again) Since I run Monterey ( on 14 inch M1 Pro 16GB) I figured i try updating on Ventura now, hopefully that works!

Update: Still crashes on launch.. any suggestions?

hi ...steam version of fallout doesn't work in porting kit app. It cant be downloaded this version

That’s right, somehow this version stopped working. Only GOG version works at the moment. We hope to get it working again soon.

I've just followed all these steps (super clear, thanks for that!) and upon launching the game it boots up, I can change the options to what you've said and click play. It goes to a full black screen for about 3 seconds, then closes completely. Any suggestions? I'm using an m1 MacBook Pro

Hi! i updated the port. please delete and and restart portingkit and reinstall the port. (it should day updated)

@@fleecejohnson3298 What GFX card do you have? For Apple Silicon 16GB Is required (because the game needs at least 8GB and 2 GB VRam 8+2=10) For AMD Radeon is 8GB Ramd and at least 2GB Vram required. I did change to an older version of DXVK, so if you have requirements of above, then please reinstall the port (delete and reinstall).

Does it work with monterey or ventura? I tried it with crossover but it crashes with monterey.. I’d be super grateful for tipps… i miss fallout 4 so much

@@drpaulthetall i was wondering if payback was possible because somebody did rivals and that is a 8th gen game compared to the previous 7th gen games like HP2010 and undercover meaning that 8th gen NFS games are possible. :)

16GB is required for Metal, so yeah 16GB is minimum.
