Thanks! I checked it out: The verse spoken by Claudio Campos (a Capoeira master who teaches in Bristol) is an adaptation of The Threefold Law - 'Heed and beware the Rule of Three: three times thy acts return to thee'. It's an old Wiccan precept about reaping what you sow. Interesting, isn't it?

An amazing track by an amazing band. I guess every band has a different pace but I've always thought that it's kind of cool that they have released albums so rarely since all of them are quite brilliant. It's better to put out a great record when it's ready rather than trying to stick to some arbitrary 2 year cycle panicing that the audience will forget you. Quality is always better than quantity, I think and Portishead has always been about quality.

Fucking Portishead man! Their music has been hitting hard since I was 16 in '94. I'm an old school London hiphop head and junglist, but that Bristol / South West movement (PH, Massive Attack, Tricky, Roni Size etc. was amazing). UK ran the 90s! 47 now and always have PHs albums on occasional rotation, I actually think 3rd is their best!

@@Waverer Jaki Leibezeit was a total machine. I saw an interview with one of their producers and he was saying they could jam a track for half an hour and he could take the drums off any part of it and use it wherever he wanted in the song because the tempo was *exactly* the same - like supernaturally so.
