Portiuncula Indulgence

Towards the end of this week…on August 1st to be exact, the Feast of St. Peter in Chains will be celebrated. As many of you know, St. Peter was unjustly imprisoned and put in chains, but we celebrate the fact that an angel delivered him from captivity, with his chains literally falling off of him, as well as being provided an easy exit from prison unto freedom. How appropriate, then, that our dearest Lord would use this great feast to introduce, through St. Francis of Assisi, a most wonderful plenary indulgence that, connected with confession, would free men from the chains and prison of their eternal and temporal debts due to sin that would occur on August 2, the Feast of Our Lady of the Angels. It is called the Portiuncula Indulgence and it was and is the first plenary indulgence that was ever granted in the Church. There were indeed indulgences at all times, but they were only partial…that is only a partial removal of the temporal punishments due to sin that could be obtained by the members of the Church. But for him who gains the Portiuncula Indulgence…he is freed from all temporal punishments and becomes as pure and unchained as he was after holy baptism. So zealous for the salvation of souls was St. Francis, that he boldly sought an excess of mercy for us criminals from our Lord and from the Roman Pontiff, for as St. Francis stated: O my Brothers and Sisters, I want you all to go to Heaven! Today is the feast of Our Lady of Angels in Australia and feel blessed listening twice this video and feel well nourished. May I please ask for your prayers for our franciscan father Euzebie Mak who was so devoted to this feast day that he too gave beautiful homilies once. He is in paliative care 89yrs old - well, Just rec'd a message our beloved father passed away not long ago - he lived saintly in our community n is leaving us with beautiful memories. 💡💡💡will miss him!🙏🙏🙏

One of my favorite stories with st Francis: the home camp of st Francis had been totally out of food. Many had not eaten . The followers of st Francis were dependent on donations. Finally, st Francis asked 3 brothers to ride to the nearby camp of robbers and thieves and ask for food. The brothers returned. They were beaten and stripped of clothes and humiliated... st Francis asked “did you say that I sent you?” They answered, no. St Francis sent them back to the robbers camp. When the robbers learned st Francis personally asked for their assistance, the brothers were lavished with food and drink and money. Almost more than they could carry.

Thank YOU Jesus our Christ, I am inside the Laity and it didn't have to be, but IS. 1957 and one, single year in parochial school... and it took how many decades of prison, destruction, drugs, alcohol? let's not leave off all that bad advice I got. Friends I don't know well enough, can you hear me in prison, now a free man come back inside those ugly walls for God? Inside that max prison for young men and I, 60+, am among the cons, of which I am one of now multiple times... in group confession... can you Imagine nobodyspecialbob and it got blistering hot for satan that Sat evening in that room, friends?... wow! It happened. God willing, it will again. The man says, "Creamy nah... CRIMINAL". He almost spoke my name with those words I am so convicted by the truth. My first parents were thieves and I was a thief... confronted by the fact that to continue my ugliness I had to kill and that was where the angel must have finally knocked me on the head because that's where I stopped. Thank you, Blessed Redeemer. I'm not the only one. The news, if you can still call it that, is just terrible all the time. The corruptions, child murders on and on. The monster roars like a lion in the street and no one has a gun. We need a Savior. We need a Boaz. He is right beside of you as I type and as you read. It was never about the money or the drugs. It's about eternity. Heaven is real. I want to share to you from my dreaming prayer life, I have a dreaming prayer life now. (May I invite you to Adoration?) JPR ...who said I scorn the mercy & grace of God? And it’s ONLY the false doctrine of the Catholic Church that says that “sola scriptura” is not biblical. But there are plenty of Scriptures that refute that. “All Scripture is inspired by God & profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2Tim 3:16-17. Jesus said in John 6:63, “the words that I have spoken to you are spirit & life.” God left us His word to live by...it’s a “lamp unto our feet” Psalm 119:105. If one lives by the traditions of men, well sorry, but men are sinners. Why would I follow them? I would rather follow Jesus, WHO IS THE WORD.
