I have a zippered version of the medium Portland tote. Mine is almost two years old and the patina it has developed is amazing!

I do! I use it as a handbag and nothing falls out. The bags are pretty structured, but the zipper makes it even more so, imo. I even bought a large size for traveling with a zipper. And now I’ve discovered their almost perfect sale, I think I’m going to buy a third! You and Sarah. Sigh. I wish I didn’t have the same tastes as both of you, LOL!❤️😂❤️

Omg I have the large with zipper version. I was debating of getting the extra large but when I started filling it up I was surprised everything fit. Yes it can get heavy.. My intention for the bag is to use it for travel purposes. But of course no traveling 😒 due to covid. But I will be ready when the time comes. Thanks for sharing.

It’s crazy! I thought the large actually looked smaller than the large, but you can put more stuff inside the large. I think the difference is in the depth of the bag, and not the length and height. But watching you put things into both bags that seemed to look the same size, it was like magic.

the depth is the same. I think the width is what they make bigger. Honestly if you are wanting one just get the large or throw caution to the wind and get the extra large. Cause you can never have enough room...right?!

Great comparison vid! I just ordered the Med. It will be perfect for my needs. But I would've gotten the Oversized Tote for that amount of stuff you put in your bag. I tend to pack a lot of stuff in mine, too, btw! Lol. 🙂

As much as I’d love a leather tote, I really can’t carry a great deal of weight on one shoulder. So, I use a lightweight and durable backpack. I need the weight distributed evenly. I actually have 3 backpacks, one for each of my jobs, each containing job specific books and resources, different sets of keys, each backpack has a fully stocked pencil case, an umbrella and sun hat. I just grab my wallet, my phone, my iPad, water bottle, my train tickets, my cosmetic pouch, a jacket and whichever backpack I need for my work that day. At Christmas time I resort to a wheelie suitcase as I always have lots more stuff to carry and I have to repack it every night depending on which job I’m going to the next day. Because I don’t drive here, I have to carry everything I need or might need on my back.

I also think about weight. I resolve the issue either by carrying a small backpack and a mini bag, or small backback and a small tote, or, sometimes, two small, purse-sized totes.

Love Portland Leather. Their leather is amazing! I have the large with a zipper top and my my initials on the front. Also have a medium open top tote. The leather is just awesome, and the prices are fantastic for what you are getting.

It's not horribly heavy but not light either. Not sure if this is a technical enough answer but hope it helps.

I really am having a hard time trying to decide between a large zipper or the tote without the zipper and a medium or a large. I am 6' tall, so I'm leaning towards large (I want to use it as my every day purse) so the big question is zipper or no zipper?

My advice is go for the large. Better to have too much room than not enough. And get the zipper. Better to have it and have the option to zip it to keep your stuff safe and you can always leave it open.

Great find!!! And I'm the same way with the carrying things in case there's a disaster thing, and I personally think it's smart because you don't ever know. Anyway, do you find the color or oils rub off on to other things bc it's vegetable oil tanned? TFS 🤍👍

Sometime people like to squish their leather items and roll them up and the. Release them. This will loosen the leather, give it wrinkles. I have a really really old video that shows me “rolling” a TN or you can just look up videos on KZbin. Just be warned. This is something that cannot be undone. Hope this explains it.
