Portland, ME Fire Department *Brand New* Medcu 6, Ladder 6 Spare & Car 5 Responding

At approximately 10:45 on 12/30/2021, the Portland FD was activated for an odor of gas. Upon arrival, Ladder 6 found a fuel leak in the basement. Ladder 6 & Rescue 1 remained on scene to contain the leak until CMP arrived.

Awesome video!! I have a tour video of this station from a couple years ago. How did you know they got the call? I can't get them on my FM Scanner anymore, only thru Broadcastify or the like but that is a couple minutes delay which doesn't help.

I wanted to take a tour, but they couldn't let me in due to covid restrictions. Same thing with all the stations in the area, makes it hard because I want to do the live-in program through SMCC, but I can't tour any of the stations prior to applying. As far as getting the call, there is an app called Zello that Portland FD is on, and it's instant. I was standing a few blocks away, but was still able to get there in time for their response. I believe they actually have their own app too, if you just go to the app store/google play store and search up "Local 740" it should come up.

@@CoolFireTrucks Portland FD has an app called "Local 740" that I happened to find not even 10 minutes ago. It's got some cool pictures and the radio and other stuff. I'm not sure if there's a delay on it though.

Medcu is just Portland’s version of an ambulance. Same thing, just different name. (Medcu is short for Medical Crisis Unit). Thanks for watching!
