Can't believe the trees are showing signs of frosty temps already. Nice Sunday ride Moorland 👍

I can't believe you could see the trees:-) The change to Autumn here was really fast after the night temps dropped.

I love riding in the rain :-) I remember buying my rain gear a couple years back (overcoat & pants), and hated having to wait from July to October to use them. :-) *loved the Hitchcock-view of the run-off water coming down on the camera

Thanks man...I didn't really it was a Hitchcock esque shot...but no worries ' there's nothing new under the sun'..I learned/started to ride in February of this year so I'm used to riding in the rain :-)

Do you guys still do these rides?
@MoorlandMoss5 жыл бұрын
We still have the facebook group where people post random ride meetups all the time. As we get more into the season and I get my bike fixed I'll be personally hosting more rides as wells. usually I do the rides on a Sunday.

This is awesome! I moved to the PDX area (live in Vancouver, WA), from London almost 2 years ago. Finally got my endorsement, and was hoping to start riding come March (just bought a '16 KLR650). Where do you guys meet up?
@MoorlandMoss8 жыл бұрын
Hey, You can find the group rides on Facebook and meetup under 'Portland Motorcycle Group Ride's.' . This time of year we don't have organized rides because of the weather variability, but soon in spring and after March that changes. One of our regular riders has a KLR650 and he's always off with the fast pack :-)

Looked like an awesome day for a ride and a marathon. Perfect weather! :-p What was the deal with the egg? Your bike thinks it is a chicken?

Have to ride in the rain if you want to ride.
@MoorlandMoss8 жыл бұрын
Exactly....We'll get a few cold/snowy/icy weeks here in the middle of winter...but if you don't mind the rain, we can ride here nearly the year round.

Mr. MoreLand, hee heee Sorry to message you so often in a short period of time, I am looking for your "Strangers End" video, can you point me in the right direction.? (smiles) As you know I am staring the "G-Riders Lil' MC" hee in Calgary, Alberta, Canada which is a Motorcycle Club for non thru beginners riders with either no bike or rides from 125 to 300cc max. What advice can you share with me for starting a Club.?

This is the 'Stranger' playlist kzbin.info/aero/PL2uwrVqBGOUagGvZcLbYu_IylCHLAUn5r . The other reason you can get flagged for spam, is a lot of comments in a short time, FYI. The group has a moto, 'All Riders, All Bikes, All People, All Welcome'...The most important thing for me was that nobody felt they've couldn't come along on the rides, although we generally require people to have bikes that can go 80mph so we can stay as a group on fast highway sections. I also, put a lot of time into organizing the routes (but if you see the '3 capes video' or the 'ice cave' video masses of things go wrong still). I also have a safety meeting at the start. I always have several points where between stop off's we break into fast, fast-ish, and slow groups, to make sure everyone gets the kind of ride they want in...BUT, I also, make sure when we split into groups everyone has the best information regarding road surfaces and potential dangers.... It all adds up, as of course the members being all relaxed, to really great days with diverse people....here's the group ride playlist kzbin.info/aero/PL2uwrVqBGOUbQXt0irseyuWtRRy5thh-2

FANTATIC ADVICE, My motorcycle will only do 100km/hr (60mph) Max, so there is no Highway riding for me or my Club. This club of mine is more for beginner riders riding from Café to Café in very small groups (no more then 5 at one time) Or for learning to ride only one on one in parking lots where members can use one of my three 125cc motorcycles. I'm going steal your idea of having a safety meeting at the start and the best information regarding road surfaces and potential dangers. Now to watch your links, good of you to take the time to write me a great messages, sometimes I get superficial messages.
